Hi My GP was concerned about my blood results and the effects of my medication still don't seem to be working as I am still very tired and have not lost any of that weight I gain. I am on levo 50mcg and lio T3 30mcg. But my tsh is still really low and if I add more t4 it will drop further. My results

Hi, thanks for all the info here. I’ve been reading for hours, think I’ve tried to absorb too much too quickly as my brain feels like it’s going to pop! I’ve been feeling nauseous with low pain headaches for a month so had a GP apt last week. Bloods were done and all appears normal apart from thyroid

T3 only
Hi all, I was just curious, those on T3 only, how did you go about switching to T3 only, what dose do you take and do you feel much better than on levo? This is the only thing I haven't tried other than NDT. Just thinking about it. Thank you.

Guidance on starting T3 please
Hi everyone, its me again. A bit of an update first. My GP called me in August to say my TSH had now gone below range & was 0.18 (0.27-4.2) she said to lower my Thyroxine dose to 125mcgs one day then 100mcgs the following day & admitted she was out of her depth & sent a new referral to Endocrine

Elevated TSH
My recent blood tests read: TSH 36.7 , freeT3 3.3 and T4 13.7. I was alarmed when I saw my TSH. My GP would recommend increasing the T4 , but it seems ok to me. And when it goes up anywhere past 15, I start to get horrible symptoms. E.G. fast heartrate. I have been seeing a private endo. as I

Ivf loss - due to lack of TSH/ Hypothyroidism monitoring? Any advice appreciated :)
Hello all, very useful & supportive group this! :) thanks in advance for any thoughts.. My partner has hypothyroidism, and takes levothyroxine for it. She had 1st ever IVF transfer (frozen) in November, which became positive but sadly didn’t get past 4 weeks. Out of curiosity, she asked her GP to test

Would love to hear levothyroxine initial/beginning treatment anecdotes! 😁
Looking to hear people's stories of their first few months on levothyroxine. I'm still going through a roller coaster of symptoms... and I'm a month in. Tell me how you felt, symptoms, comparisons to how you normally felt before, when you starting feeling more like yourself... more detailed the better

Help with lab results.
My most recent lab results are posted above. I had my endocrinologist add the additional tests that were recommended. Can someone please read my results and let me know what you think. Note, I was taking 75 mcg of levothyroxine earlier this year and after my March labs my doctor bumped it up to 88 mcg

Primary Hypothyroidism with Hashis
Hello everyone, thank you for all your informative posts, I wish I had gotten more involved in monitoring my own thyroid status over these past 28 years! I took 2 Advanced Thyroid Function Blood Tests with Medichecks on 29/3/23 and 29/11/23. Please could you help with your observations of the 2 tests

Update following long-awaited GP appointment for results of Thyroid blood test
Following my last post, I have finally had my GP appointment. I thought it was solely to discuss my annual Thyroid blood test but it seems they had also tested for cholesterol. Had a long lecture about high LDL and the risk. I explained that I couldn't really do any more to improve it as I already

Hello lovely people. I’ve been reading posts for a few weeks now, having discovered this amazing site. I was diagnosed a month ago and have been taking Levothyroxine 50mcg for 3 weeks. I’ve put all my blood results on my bio and am thinking I probably should have put them on a post? Anyway, basically

Dr’s appointment this morning to discuss dose increase for my daughter, ‘urgent’ help required 🙏
Good morning everyone, My daughter (17, nearly 18) was diagnosed with hypothyroidism is the summer, initially prescribed 25mcg which was obviously inadequate so she requested dose increase which was granted. She’s been on 50mcg since beginning of September, she initially felt an improvement in symptoms

Not Fibromyalgia: Not CFS
I haven't visited here for some time. Following major surgery for head and neck cancer I developed terrible fatigue which included a ton of symptoms. Covid was rife and no appointments were possible with a GP. Not much better now either. I was in a real state both physically and mentally so emailed

Just keeping you up to date
There are 4 new papers in the journal Thyroid. Its's a groupthink seminar from the combined great and good. The titles may depress people somewhat, but these groups have yet to stop taking TSH so seriously. I hope to get full texts from Rudolf who has access.
