Levo at night
If I take my Levothyroxine at night do I really have to have it with a large glass of water. I'm already having to get up in the middle of the night for the bathroom, I don't really want to have to get up twice !! Thanks.

Mitral Valve Prolapse and Hypothyroidism
Is Mitral Valve Prolapse associated with Hypothyroidism? If so, Is the condition common? I was diagnosed with a mild MVP 30 years ago and Hypothyroidism . 15 years later. Until I started taking Levothyroxine I had panic attack type episodes. I have never had any check ups for the MVP. Thanks

Kindly requesting help again
unfortunately it now seems I have a diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis as well. I’ve been really unwell with severe pain. Still waiting for an NHS appointment. Paid to see a Private Rheumatologist and I’ve also had an ultrasound scan. With all that being said, because of all the different inflammatories

Awful night sweats: hyper, hypo, other - update
Hi. 13 days ago I posted about horrid night sweats https://healthunlocked.com/thyroiduk/posts/149807088/awful-night-sweats-hyper-hypo-other The correct name is generalised hyperhidrosis as the sweats are all over, not just palms, armpits, etc. Back particularly sweaty. This has continued and is affecting

Hormone concerns prior to ICSI
HiWe are due to start out first IVF/ICSI next month. I privately have been doing my own investigations as our GP and NHS is terrible in our area and I have been having symptoms of concern. We are referred for ICSI due to poor morphology but also I am 36 and AMH 6.25. So far I have found that on a day

Evening everyone, its been a while since I've been on here. Hope everyone is well? I have an appointment next week with my Endo and as he always does he sends me for bloods a few weeks before, for some reason this time they forgot to do the FT3 and he wanted to check my morning cortisol too, so he sent

hello, this is my first post - I’ve done a lot of lurking and learning here for a few months whilst waiting for blood test results. It’s kept me sane dipping in to this amazing space and given me confidence to get help and create structure around my health - which is amazing given where I was 6 months

Perseverance paid off !
Hello.I just wanted to say that if you need Levothyroxine and your doctor refuses, keep trying. I approached my 'named' doctor when my TSH was hovering around 4.70 - 5.00 but my antibodies were well out of range. Her comments were " oh we don't treat until your TSH gets to 10" and " we don't treat Hashimotos

Advice urgently needed: Endo reducing levo dose yet again based on flawed blood results.
Hello everyone I had thyroidectomy 1992 and since then been on levothyroxine. Roughly, 6 weeks ago levo dose was reduced by GP from 75/50mcg alternate days, to 50mcg daily due to T4 being over range. A very toxic iodine based medication I'm prescribed to treat afib, namely Amiodarone, is pushed T4 over

Just keeping you up to date
There are 4 new papers in the journal Thyroid. Its's a groupthink seminar from the combined great and good. The titles may depress people somewhat, but these groups have yet to stop taking TSH so seriously. I hope to get full texts from Rudolf who has access.

Please could I have help interpreting my new results after 6 weeks adding T3 to my Levo?
I’ve had my appointment with the nhs Endo and she has agreed to prescribe T3 again due to my heart checks all being fine. she thought my tight chest last year when on T3 was due to my Levo dose being too high. she has prescribed 2 x 5 mcg T3 daily (1 dose morning & 1 dose afternoon). She said

Is Hillcross levo really Teva?
Hello everyone,I can't take Teva levothyroxine as it gives me a really bad stomach.I take 100mcg levo 4 x a week and 125mcg 3 x a week but my chemist says they can't specify no teva for the 25mcg. The HUB just sends what they have so I have to hand it back and try other chemists with my prescription.I
