Anticoagulant for AF
I've seen some helpful posts on this site and I hope someone can help me further. I was recently diagnosed with AF but I don't have a fast heart rate. My pulse rarely gets to 59. My doctor has prescribed an anticoagulant (Eliquis) but I'm scared of taking it because of the side effects. I had two bleeding

Looking for feedback regarding Asymptomatic Afib
I'm fairly new to this forum and I already feel at home. It's very refreshing to find an online community whose members are so kind, understanding and generous. By way of introduction, I'm a 69-year-old male living in Connecticut. My Afib history is as follows: Diagnosed with Afib by PCP - 8/9/

Eliquis and surgery
I will have to go off my Eliquis for several days prior to having surgery on one of my eyes. I am terrified that I may go into AF while off it. Has anyone had to go off their anticoagulant for surgery and had AF without it causing a stroke?

Eliquis, covid, travel- not sure how to proceed
I was planning on starting Eliquis today (really I am supposed to start it on Tuesday but I will be traveling) but I think I have covid, (tested negative but it is abdominal/fever/hurty skin and similar symptoms to my last round of covid). I am due to fly long haul Tuesday and wanted to start the eliquis

Low dose <5mg eliquis
I am taking Eliquis 5 mg twice a day. I get some significant bruising. I am also taking ibrutinib 140 mg which is lowest dose...blood counts are good. I was also diagnosed with afib. I'm wondering if anyone is taking less than 5 mg Eliquis twice daily and if that works? I've talked with a couple friends

blinding period success!
This week I will hit the 3 month blinding period date! I remain in Normal sinus rhythm and will be able to discontinue my Eliquis! However 3 nights ago I began to have PAC’s. Today I recorded them pretty consistently 3-6 per minute. So bummed as I haven’t really even been aware of my heart beat in last

Think I missed one dose of Eliquis
So I just took my regular evening dose of Eliquis for pre-op. But I just realized since I was out in the morning and didn't have my pill box with me that I forgot to take it. I'm having an ablation on Tuesday. I've been taking Eliquis twice a day and this is the first time I slipped. Damn.Do you think

Generic Apixaban
Greetings! The US insurance I have for Medicare recipients increased the Eliquis price by about $900 for 2024. That puts my total price for the year, including the deductible, at about $2,000. I simply can't afford it so I'm considering alternatives. Does anyone in the UK have experience with the

KardiaMobile and Apple Watch
I recently wore a heart monitor for two weeks. While on the monitor both my CardioMobile and my Apple Watch picked up several episodes of Afib, PACs, and Etopics. The results from the heart monitor test showed I had some episodes of PACs but otherwise the test was normal. It never picked one single

Knock wood... AFib continues to be in check
I've been working at 6,800 ft/2,100 m as a Camp cook in the San Bernardino mountains for the past two summers and roaming the Santa Ana River Valley peaks at 10,000-11,500 ft/3,000-3,500 m. A month ago, I went in for a routine visit with my lead cardiologist (I had a massive heart attack 11½ years ago

Update from my Electrophylogist Doc. Yesterday. He said since the afib just started and was persistent he wanted to start slowly and start with cardio version. Will be scheduled within next two weeks. Said ekg showed afib with heart rate from 70 to 92 beats per minute. Said afib has no cure but many

Any suggestions?
Any help for permanent afib after having three cardioversions which worked for the past two years last one only lasted two weeks. Taken off Multaq and on Lopressor 100 am & pm plus eliquis. Told ablation would more than likely not be successful. Should I get a second opinion. Do not feel that great
