My story so far....
The last few nights I have been woken my acid squirting at the back of my throat and then my airways close and I need to use a
ventolin
inhaler. I had a chest X-ray that was clear in September.

nighttime coughing
Haven't slept for days as cant stop coughing from midnight onwards. have used my
Ventolin
in spacer (up to 15 puffs as advised by respiratory nurse at hospital) this only helps for a few hours and then cough back again. Been sitting upright with drinks honey etc but nothing seems to work!!

Feeling happy and hopeful
Hi all last night was the first night in months that I haven't been kept awake coughing, wheezing etc and today is the first time since being on
ventolin
I have not had to use it ( usually couple of times a day I need it more so in the mornings) let's hope the change to seretide is the answer.

Symbicort
I haven't had to use
ventolin
for a week now. Went out to my local town this afternoon, which is very hilly, and managed to walk from bottom to top in one go and was able to breath and chat to my husband at the same time. I don't remember the last time I was able to do this.

Desperately seeking help for my 8 year old
To cut the story short she was diagnosed as an asthmatic quite early and has had years of inhalers etc, about 2 years ago our hospital consultant concluded after a chest x.ray, no wheezing and monitoring she didn't have asthma and to stop all meds (
Ventolin
, Clenil and MOntelukast).

Very high peak flow, but very hard to breath!
I also have
Ventolin
which I am needing more and more of now, despite the improving weather etc. I never cough or wheeze, but I do get some chest tightness, visial disturbance, burning feet and heavy shortness of breath both inhaling and exhaling, but mostly inhaling.

I CURED MYSELF OF COPD?
My condition has improved in leaps and bounds over those 4 – 5 weeks and I now find that I am no longer coughing day and night, in fact I hardly cough at all now, and I no longer need to use the
Ventolin
Evohaler.

Virus asthma and fed up
After 10 puffs of
ventolin
over one hour it settled. Long story short I got appointment with duty GP who has now added clenil 100 to my asthma meds. Seretide 8 puffs daily, Montelukast and
ventolin
. It is helping. My breathing responds to vent so how can it not be asthma.

Hi
So now I take Singulair (not the generic, which actually triggers my asthma, and my GP has agreed that); Flutiform;
Ventolin
(rarely needed now) and Fexafenadine anti histamine. (I'm allergic to loads). With all that lot inside me, I'm good! Liz

What's your asthma action plan?
My new asthma action plan: In response to same exacerbation hints as above, 1) Increase Fostair up to 4 puffs a day with
Ventolin
as and when required. 2) If still needing
Ventolin
in the night etc after that, ditch the
Ventolin
and start taking Fostair as my only inhaler, up to 8 puffs a day. 3) ???

Dr refusing medication
At my previous surgery I requested an extra
ventolin
inhaler with my usual repeats because I'd had a heavy cold and my breathing had been erratic, usually there is no problem and my doctor knows that I come down with heavy colds a few times a year, anywho, this time it was refused, so I telephoned to

Seretide Discus and Throat Problems
For all this time i was only using
ventolin
for the attacks, and no other medication. But lately ( 6 moths or so) attacks are getting more often. So my doctor prescribed Seretide discus for me.

Should I go back to the hospital?
I then started getting chills and joint pain so I went to the out of hours where I was given
ventolin
nebulizers which again didn't stop my wheezing and I was given a chest xray which showed I have some fluid on my lungs, I was prescribed antibiotics and 30mg or prednisolone a day.
