Recurrent croup with respiratory distress age 4 getting worse
She's on clenil,
ventolin
(sometimes helps) and dextramethasone for attacks, she had this 2 hours prior to her 'episode' last week, is anyone out there the same? It's getting worse as she gets older and I don't know where to go from here?

Back again
Peak flow is still below 300, I've been given
Ventolin
to be used x2 daily and after a bit of pushing on my part I'm to have Spirometry next Monday.... This has been going on for more than 2 months, hence my request for spirometer test. Thank you for reading this xx

Aerosol sprays
I'm on xolair injections, high dose fostair, and
ventolin
I also have my own nebuliser at home. Not getting any relief. Now thinking I'm going to have to start high dose steroids again which really pees me off. Just because of a thoughtless act by a probably still smelly teenager!

No control of asthma symptoms long term
I can not no matter which inhaler I use gain control day to day and have bought
Ventolin
tablets over the internet which I was prescribed years ago. They have added Seebri and tried the other COPD inhaler and only make me cough.

Took 2 puffs of
Ventolin
while getting changed and another just before stepping out the door. Used my buff over my mouth/nose until about half way through the first 3 minutes run.

What to do now?
I'm already on 2 puff twice a day of fostair (200/6), 10mg montelukast per day and
ventolin
when I need it. Short of giving me steroid tablets to take every day, I'm at the most he says he can do for asthma, other than starting treatment for COPD, which he is certain I haven't got.

Found it quote tough with breathing towards the end of the 1st 3 min run and took 2 puffs of
ventolin
during recovery walk as breathing wasn't recovering enough for the next run, but had no such problems with the 2nd 3 min run.

Mum advice
But...After various episodes, OOH/hospital visits and ambulance for attack last year he was finally given a preventer inhaler and continue with his
ventolin
as required. Summer is trouble free but as usually September brings on the wheeze.

Hi
Had chest X Ray and all was clear, but just back from a holiday abroad where I had
Ventolin
inhaler with me, things got really hairy, terrible thick mucus, that I couldn't get up, inability to get my breath at night etc etc. Got home and was in A&E with low blood oxygen levels, peak flow below 150.

low peak flow
I run twice a week over about 3 miles across country taking 1 puff of
Ventolin
before the start. It does not increase my peak flow noticeably.

What can I do to ease cough/break up phlegm?
Taking Seretide and
Ventolin
, can breathe and walk about ok. Haven't had an attack. Peak flow is at 87% (370ish).

Chest problems
They are treating me as copd so am on
Ventolin
, I think it is one of those disease that can never be fully diagnosed, so I think it is trial and error to which inhalers to use,and which responds well for you. It doesn't scare me, it annoys me.

Steroid therapy
Things got worse recently and the discomfort and pain that I feel from my gastritis left me eating just fish and carrots (definitely a low point) then something happened, I suffer from asthma and tend to stick to my
ventolin
inhaler as I'm not too bothered by it except in Autumn/winter peiod.

Asthma at primary school
My seven year old daughter's teacher okayed my suggestion that my daughter writes in her home/school diary whenever she uses her
Ventolin
. Needless to say my daughter has never recorded that she's used it.

Qvar And Fluticasone Inhalers
Rescue Inhaler like
Ventolin
) when breathing gets difficult, but will aim to keep my use of
Ventolin
very low. (Ideally, I'd like to still keep a Fostair Inhaler close at hand, as I find it works very well if used for just several days only when symptoms get worse, rather than every day).

Coughing
I wondered if it was my asthma so had 2 puffs of
ventolin
but this didn't help, so 10 minutes later had 2 more, still no help so wondered if it was actually my asthma, or just the chest infection. Over about an hour I had 10 puffs of
ventolin
and after half an hour the cough seemed to subside.
