Permanently low peak flow, nothing helps!
I'm 62, and have had asthma since a baby. It thankfully does not affect my daily life, (unless I go up a hill and then I get a bit breathless) but my peak flow NEVER goes above 240, and hasn't for years. I've had a lot of hospital tests, and been put on various inhalers, but nothing makes any difference

Has anyone got a way of tracking how much is left in a Ventolin inhaler?
I use my Ventolin as a regular inhaler with a dose of 6 puffs from 2 to 4 times daily. I have tried counting usage and weighing the aerosol unit but it still catches me out. I only know when it stops helping me to breathe!

post reliever peak flow
Yesterday I thought I'd try some exercise for the first time since I started with the last chest infection. Big mistake, unfortunately as my chest got very tight and I ended up using 10 puffs of ventolin. It did the trick and the tightness went but my peak flow still wasn't that high. Before exercise

Morning dip in peak flow + symptoms
Does anyone here have issues with morning dips in their peak flow, that coincide with coughing/wheezing fits? I've had asthma for nearly 2 years now, I started out just using Ventolin and was diagnosed based on wheezing, coughing fits and massive variations in my morning and night peak flow... Since

Steroid use in ultrasonic nebuliser. I have read on one website that steroids can not be used in ultrosonic portable battery nebulisers,
I bought one of these small devices last year so I can carry with me at all times, due to a collapse in the town last year during the cold weather. I have been using ventolin and steroids in the device as I thought that is what is was for. Can anyone put me right. Thank you

A newby that's just a bit fed up .......
Hi everyone, I've just joined this group. I was a smoker but gave up 21 years ago in 1993 When my 1st grandchild arrived. My acid reflux started about 15 years ago around 1999. I now have COPD , was diagnosed in May 2010 as moderate. Much to the surprise of the GP........and my shock horror

Bricanyl causing acid reflux, what alternative?
I use Spiriva as my regular daily inhaler but my COPD nurse recommended using Bricanyl additionally as a reliever during the winter with the colder weather and strong winds. I quickly noticed that I was getting quite severe acid reflux which I wasn't getting before. I had to stop taking the Bricanyl

Flutiform - adding another steroid inhaler
I've been taking Flutiform 125/5 for about a month and I am really loving it. I switched from Symbicort to flutiform because Symbicort caused paradoxical bronchospasm, because it was a dry powder inhaler but one thing that I am struggling with, if when my asthma flares, I can't increase Flutiform like

Persistent Daytime cough that never goes....advice please!
Do any of you suffer from a persistent daytime cough that never goes? My daughter was diagnosed aged 20mths, she's now 3, and has suffered with a cough since 3mths old. This winter has been her worst yet, she's had Prednisolone 5 times and her Clenil 50 (200mg per day) upped to Clenil 100 (400mg per

Lower than (my usual) average peak flow, and asthma nurse suddenly concerned.
Hi, new user here! I've had asthma all my life, it's genetic, and I've been relatively symptom free recently! Usually, I notice it at night, or after running, but otherwise, I don't take my reliever (Ventolin 200 Accuhaler) at all. During an asthma check-up, my asthma nurse said that my peak flow was

Negative results but allergic to something?! What?!!
Hi, we have a 5year old girl with suspected cough variant asthma and all round rhinitis. She is on a lot of meds, montelukast, seretide 125 (4 puffs a day), ventolin (4 puffs daily), theophlynne (caffeine tabs), nasonex (once a day), cetirizine (twice a day). TBH, I think our asthma consultant is a bit

Hi everyone, I am new to this and was wondering if anyone could tell me the difference between copd and bronchiectasis. Thank you.
I am new to all this but have posted one silly question before (with hindsight). I have read and learned a lot from all of you, but what has struck me the most is the genuine kindness and caring that shines through. I have looked up copd and bronchiectasis but it confuses me more! I have had asthma for

Hi, I'm new to the forum and have a question. My asthma is relatively mild, and I only really tend to struggle during exercise and when I have an infection/cold. I was diagnosed 2 years ago and was on Ventolin with a clenil preventor inhaler until October 2013, when I had my first bad attack and ended
