I had a chat with my pharmacist today
Following a previous post on here I asked him about the current thinking about the use of the blue ventolin inhaler reliever asthma, and whether it should only be used 2/3 times a week and not daily. He emphatically said yes it was, and if I was using mine 3/4 times a day my asthma was uncontrolled

I'm new to this a forum. I was changed from Flixotide and Ventolin as my asthma was not controlled. I'm now on a combination inhaler - Flutiform, but I have bad cramp in my feet every night, plus swollen ankles. The Flutiform was helping until I got a cold and had to take Ventolin too. Anyone got

What happened?
I had a really scary event earlier and I'm not really sure what happened!! I was just sat watching TV when I needed to cough, I just kept coughing then when I tried to breathe in, I was really struggling to get any air in, like my throat had closed and I was making a loud noise, not a wheeze, a gasping

Blue inhaler .
Had my yearly asthma check yesterday, was asked by the nurse how often I use my inhaler.I said sometimes twice a day sometimes not at all,if I have a chest infection more.I was then told that I'm using my inhaler all wrong and that one inhaler is to last just over one year and that my asthma is out off

Please help
So I've finally got a referral to see a specialist. I was in a&e 10 days ago with a mild attack which I'm now not even sure was an attack. Woke in the night with thick clear mucus that is clogging my throat and chest. Nebs are the only thing that seem to help but everyone reminds me the evidence says

NHS Cancelling my mdedication
The nurse at my doctors surgery just called me and advised that "due to the NHS cutting costs" I would have to change my medication. I have been asthmatic since birth and struggled in the last couple of years to control it (I just turned 27) finally finding the right medication after a flare up for around

Upper airway hypersensitivity
Have suffered with asthma for several years but I also seem to suffer with hypersensitive upper airways. Sometimes just swallowing my saliva if it goes down wrong way, i seem to develop a stridor and unable to get air in. The feeling of panic is awful, I am unable to use my ventolin at that time as can't

At first I put it down to stress after making the decision to get my beloved 16 year old dog put down, I loved him with all my hear t& I was absolutely heartbroken & so distressed, however , as I learned to live with my grief my breathing

Back to GP Back on AB's + son's update
Finished my course of AB's from the Hospital A&E visit on Sunday and thought I had improved but still had a silly cough but not so much as before but yesterday I felt like my lungs were been tightened all around and Ventolin did nothing for me. One of the issues I had was the stupid cough was aggravating

Uncontrolled Asthma
Dear All I have suffered from asthma for 25 years ,and it has always been well controlled with Ventolin and Seretide 250 which was changed to Seretide 500 accuhaler but the dry powder aggravated my chest. I gave up smoking in August 2013 and I have never felt worse tbh. I was in hospital in April

Struggling...
So, I was diagnosed with asthma about three years ago. It's always been pretty mild, until this year when I was prescribed Fostair, then montelukast. Until July, everything was fine. Then I got laryngitis. Since then, I've had two courses of oral pred, finishing the last one last Friday. And I'm

Aero spacer - storage?
Hi everybody I have two aero spacers - one kept beside my bed and one in my handbag. I can go months without using the Ventolin, but when I do need it, I worry about the spacer, as it won't have been washed for months! I've been keeping the spacers in ziploc bags, thinking that would keep them the

Hi
Oh what a beautiful sunrise, today. Counting my blessings, to have early morning (early morning for me, anyway), coffee and rolls at our newly re-opened and much modified sports centre. No-one here except one or two swimmers. We sit with free wifi, and catch up on e-books, films on Netflix, etc on our
