CT Scan Results
Hi ladies, I have my coffee and read every morning all questions but barely ask questions. Today I have a question, I’m in Canada and get my basic 15 minutes with my oncologist. When I leave I ask for a copy of CT scan results. This time when I read it, all it mentioned was previous evidence of mastectomy

New to the group
Hi, KIATEAL here. Just learned of local recurrence. Pet and bone scan to follow. Not sure whether I’m in the right forum. Followed a link while checking out Letrozole. No chemo/radiation etc so far. Surgery and Care Oncology Protocol only. Now 1 1/2 year later local recurrence after mastectomy. Waiting

Levothyroxine breast cancer
My mum has just been diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. I was just looking into levothyroxine and risk of long term use and breast cancer in woman was one of them. I’m now worried about the risk of cancer. Although I’ve had a double mastectomy because I’m trans I still have some breast tissue remaining

Eight years ago I had a pain in the left breast which seemed to be inflamed. I thought it would settle but then wondered if the inflammation was because of a blockage somewhere - so off to see the doc who confirmed inflammation and gave me antibiotics. As I was leaving his room he said “I think I

I'm a Newbie and a Breast Cancer Survivor 😊
Hi everybody! I am a firm believer in the power of peer groups and I am sooo happy I found you! I was just diagnosed in late April and had a modified radical mastectomy (aka double mastectomy) May 25th of this year. With an absolute belief in faith and with the grace God, I think I've sailed through

Bone Scan advice
Hello all, just a quick query . I've been on pred since the beginning of March , currently 12.5mg. I'm on Alendronic Acid too. I have been on Letrozole since my Mastectomy in June 2019. I had a bone scan then which is standard when starting something like Letrozole as it increases osteoporosis risk.

Spreading Cancer (Or Just Waking It Up)
If you look at any collection of "common myths about cancer", you will probably find reassurances about the idea that having cancer surgery might cause the cancer to spread to other parts of the body. I remember coming across this one some years ago being surprised - I'd never heard that one myself,

So glad I found this site
Diagnosed with BC when I was 46, bi lat mastectomy, chemo and tamoxifen. Mets to spine this year after 25 years cancer free. On letrozole and finished radiation. Trying to decide if I really want to take verzenio now or wait a while. The side effects look awful.. I suppose we all debate quality of life

Faslodex/Fulvestrant update
For those being offered or starting this protocol - here’s an update. I know when I joined this group - it meant a lot to get information and experiences. Faslodex is my second line treatment- after Ibrance, Femara & zoladex. I’ve been feeling well on Faslodex - still going about my daily routine and

Early Stage or In Situ and MBC recurrence
I was diagnosed in situ 7 years ago. I opened for a Mastectomy and reconstruction as my dr said recurrence rate is less than 2 % as opposed to lumpectomy with radiation and approximately 13% recurrence. Seemed like a no brainer to me at 59. They found clusters of cancer cells in one lymph node. Removed

Are you relatively happy with your implant reconstruction after bilateral mastectomy?
Having surgery in a few weeks and worried about how I will look after reconstruction.

Fatigue with PMR
I've recently been diagnosed with PMR. Steroids are working well , 15mg daily but I am exhausted. My consultant said it is likely to be the PMR, has anyone else experienced this and will it settle? I had a Mastectomy and reconstruction in June 2019 and occasionally get fatigue days as a result. This
