I was diagnosed with PBC some eight weeks ago so finding this Forum very interesting.
Urso
has helped slightly with the dry mouth situation but I am wondering whether this can be attributed to PBC. I have had this dry mouth situation for some eighteen months prior to diagnoses of PBC and although
Urso
has alleviated the problem slightly it is still very much there.

I have PBC. A trusted naturopath prescribed supplements. My GP is against .Liver specialist ambivalent. Im stuck in the middle. Advice pls
My GP says it might interfere with
Urso
. My liver specialist wrote down what was prescribed but really wasn't interested- too busy to think about it I suspect....but now what????

Diagnosed in June - update
I have been on various supplements from time to time and calcium & iron all the time as well as
Urso
& Steroids. The jaundice is nearly cleared up, my skin is back to normal colour, my eyes are almost clear. I've had bloods done on average every two weeks since getting out of hospital.

Just Diagnosed
I have been on
Urso
since the Biopsy 2 months ago but my GP has not offered any other treatment or advice. I will not know until next week when I see the specialist how progressed it is.

Fatigue. Why are some days better than others? Is this normal?
Also, I'm on prednisone, cellcept and
urso
- can any of these drugs make you feel fatigued? Thanks! Karen

Has anyone who had abnormal lft,s when diagnosed with pbc had normal lfts since starting urso?
My lft's were very abnormal since the year before being diagnosed with pbc and despite being on
urso
more or less since then, 10yrs ago now, have never had noramal lfts and ust wondered if this applies to many pbc sufferers and if I should perhaps discuss stopping the
urso
with my consultant.

PBC/AIH, early stage of fibrosis confused.
He has reduced my
urso
, because I was feeling really sick, gums were swelling and put half a stone on. He said if my bloods are still raised next time I have them checked in six weeks, he would advise me to go on steroids. Really not sure what this all means to be honest.

Just wondering how long after starting steriods did your ALT begin to drop?
I've been taking prednisone, cellcept and
urso
(I have AIH/PBC Overlap) for two months and my ALT is rising. Is this typical or is the treatment not working?

Hashimotos/AIH/PBC...how many more can one have.
I did have some tests done, and there are so many symptoms like no appetite, cramping joints, fatigue, diarroha..she did a test relating to that as well, she also put my
Urso
up to 1000 mg per day. I was originally perscribed this as one 250mg at night because I get itchy some nights.

Does anyone know if URSO would br prescribed to someone with advanced stage PBC at diagnosis?
When my diagnosis was confirmed by liver biopsy I was put on
URSO
straight away. I ask my question because from personal experience I do not want to have to put my mother through having a liver biopsy unecessarily.

advanced stages with cirrhosis any1?
6 months ago I was told I had reached advanced stages with this disease and had cirrhosis. my
urso
dose was doubled and i was told i would need repeat scans every 6 months to monitor progression and look out for any sign of liver cancer. yikes!! and that transplant would now be likely.

Ladies have any of you been pregnant following diagnosis of pbc and if so did your consultant keep you on urso during your pregnancy?
I was pregnant 6yrs ago and was off the
urso
for first 5mths, the first 3mths I felt great but into the 4th month I became quite unwell. I was put back on
urso
and things improved.
