Gabapentan/neurotonin
I know it does not cause liver issues and does not react with
URSO
. Has anybody else with PBC taken this as a nerve blocker? I am not home to ask my doctors….

It is used as a marker of the disease statis and when to begin treatment with
Urso
. Certainly the lower the number the better. Right now, as of 2023, the ideal targets are under 217. Hopefully in the near future the target number will be under 130.

Sore throat on urso
Hi Has anyone experienced a constant sore throat when starting
urso
? I started 3 weeks ago and have been feeling fine, but last 10 days I have had a sore throat when swallowing and I have no infection present when checked by my gp. So just wondering if anyone else has had the same. Thank you

urso capsules vs tablet
hi everyone, My insurance stopped paying for
Urso
300 capsules. They will pay for
Urso
250 tablets. Does anyone know the difference? Do they work the same? I hate to change if what I am taking works. Thanks.

Carvedilol and Urso bowl changes
I’ve been on cavedilol medication since May 2023 and
Urso
since 2022, up until a few weeks ago I’ve suffered a lot of dioreah which started when at the same time when when the Dr prescribed me ferris sulphate for low iron. I know this has a lot of gastric issue so stopped that a week ago.

Double Dosing Cholestyramine
Taking a double dose means staying up late to time it with
Urso
as I have to wait hours between each. My internist says I can take two cholestyramine doses at once. The packaging and everything on internet says not to do that. I'm not sure what to do.

Travel insurance with PBC. UK
My liver is fine, responding well to
URSO
etc. However, finding travel insurance has been ‘interesting’. Most companies (including the ones listed on the Liver Trust site) are charging almost £2000 for 12 months for me and my husband!!

Possible Sjogren’s
I was diagnosed with PBC in 2005 and have been on
URSO
since diagnosis. No significant change in my PBC in all these years. Also, have Hashimoto’s 2016, and Oral Lichen Planus 2021. Recently, I was in the ER because I developed a speech issue. My family thought it was a stroke.

PBC, now cirrhosis
Been on
Urso
for 5 yrs and great. In 2021 my ALT was slightly out of range but ignored by the specialist. GP flagged it up January 2023 and I had an ultrasound just showed enlarged spleen. Fibroscan in April jumped from stage one to bottom of stage four.

interesting convo with Rheumatologist
But the interesting part of the conversation was when I kept saying “I MUST have an overlap because my fibroscan and LFTs are stable on
Urso
, but my symptoms are worse!”.

We understand....
I have been on
Urso
since 1985 with little side effects really. This past week the fatigue for me has been a real reminder of what life was like for me prior to transplant. Moving one foot in front of the other has often been a real struggle. I do know how so many of you experience this 'fatigue'.

What if?
No time is wasted taking nothing besides their
Urso
or Ocaliva. Every patient deserves equal chance of benefiting from a new drug potentially. Any thoughts on this? The lobbying of the pharmacuetical companies is crucial for this to happen. The PBC Foundation is committed to make this happen!

Hi I have lived with this condition for almost 20 years and been on
Urso

to all our newly diagnosed people
Urso
is a must drug to take. It has been proven to be the first line treatment for PBC. Take one day at a time. We are all in this together. Hopefully you feel that whoever is caring for you, knows about PBC and how to treat someone with it. If this isn’t the case, we can talk about this..
