Opinions on my Phimosis situation
Hello, I am 18 years old, and I have a tight foreskin. I saw a urologist two days ago, and he basically said I need a circumcision. He said steroid cream will probably not work, although he did prescribe me triamcinolone 0.1% and told me to try it for a month. Now, I would like to avoid a circumcision

Asteroid Hyalosis
Following a cataract operation I developed cystic macular oedema (swelling at back of eye) which was treated for 6 months with eye drops each day. Although I had no discomfort and vision was almost corrected it was decided to give an eye injection of triamcinolone. After sitting on a hard chair waiting

Raging Rash
I've been taking Ibrutinib for 16 months. The first 8 months I had no problems. Now 7 months ago I started having a rash on my legs, some on my chest and shoulders. I saw my dermatologist and tried several creams. Triamcinolone Acetonide gives some relief. Now it is the worst it has been. My MD took

Triamcinolone - anyone tried this?
Hello, I have just come across this drug, recommended for use against hay-fever and other allergies but co-incidentally also helping with RA pain. Does anyone have any experience of this drug please? As I've proved allergic to everything except Naproxen and Oramorph over the past 7 years, I'm curious

Spasticity (Triamcinolone Acetonide)
Triamcinolone Acetonide is a corticosteroid, it's usually sold as a cream for topical treatment. But look at these trials when it is applied intrathecally https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26584946 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25224601 Here is a quote... Spasticity, maximum walking distance

I can't cope with this much more!
Evening all, I hope everyone is ok. I have just been discharged from hospital, and I'm struggling again (been to acute medicine clinic today for nebs). I've lost count of the number of admissions now but I have just had enough, of bouncing in and out of hospital, of not being able to work...not being

Can anyone help me understand how my son is still having asthma probs with sore/tight chest yet less than 1% eoosinophils and eNO of <20? I felt a bit foolish at our last o/p appointment as my son had lung function of 37%, was obviously finding it quite hard to breathe and was having probs putting sentances

Triamcinolone/kenalog
Hi all this may sound daft but I have no idea what the relationship is between kenalog and pred. I was asked by a mum at school whose son also has difficult Asthma what the equivilent would be if taking daily Pred. I looked a bit silly answering with 'I really have no idea!' So wondered if any of

IV Methylprednisolone
Does anyone have any experience of Methylpred. Jay has been having 4 weekly IV infusions instead of Triamcinolone injections. I know the Triamcinolone is a depot injection and lasts for around 4 weeks but am not sure how IV Methylpred works. He is having it over 1/2 and hour. Doesn't help when the

How much Pred do you take?
I have noticed over the years that people take different amounts of Pred for exacerbations and wondered what the maximum effective dose would be. My son who is 14 has never taken more than 40mg, whether the Gp has prescribed it because he is starting to dip or when he's been in hospital needing IV's

He then had 3 doses of 80mg Triamcinolone injections from Sep to Dec with three 5 day courses of 40mg pred as well. Since he stoppped the injections he has had a further

Just a bit fed up and in need of a moan...
Having huge probs with my son and his asthma at the moment. He is currently on his 4th week of being low. We have had numerous attendances to the ward for nebs and are having close follow ups with the Brompton. His appointment last week was a little disheartening as he had a fev1 of 34% and only had
