working out what my results mean
Firstly thank you for all the help I’ve received already with my numerous questions. My question today is how do I fully understand the percentage through range? I have posted my results before and I’ve been told my t3 is low and I’m a poor converter. As an example my most recent results are:- TSH

How do you work out your percentage through the range please?
0.27 - 4.2 R 2.4 mIU/L FREE T3 3.1 - 6.8 R 3.7 pmol/L FREE THYROXINE 12 - 22 R 12.6 pmol/L How do you convert your results into a percentage of the total range please? I thought you took the top of the range figure as 100% then worked out 1% then multiplied by the result but I don’t think

Still having symptoms of hypothyroidism despite medication - any advice?
I wondered if anyone could please share their thoughts on my situation. I was diagnosed with subclinical hypothyroidism around 8 years ago, but didn’t have any symptoms (apart from some fatigue). Then, after contracting COVID in 2020, I began to have symptoms like 30-35lb weight gain (unexplained),

Affect of exercise on Thyroid levels
Hi everyone. I, realised back in March that my long suffering with nerve pain had got considerably better. I don't know why it suddenly reduced. I'm just really pleased that it did! I decided to get my health and weight under control as I am now able to exercise. I started doing three or four walks

New blood results - Need advice
TSH: 1.82 FT4: 19 (11-23) FT3: 5.6 (3.4-5.9) I was on 225mcg and lowered to 150mcg. These blood tests were after 16 weeks on 150. I took two weeks off of 225mcg then started 150. I feel awful. Terrible fatigue and brain fog. Was told I possibly had a thyroid storm. My FT3 has never been this

New results…
Hi everyone, just a bit of background info: These are my NHS test results from Nov 2023: t4 13.8 (7-17) tsh 0.10 (0.20 - 4.50) although the TSH came back slightly under range at that time, thankfully the GP said “no action” so I have carried on with 75mcg (have been having my usual brands - no

More test results to understand
I have now seen an endocrinologist and had another set of tests. My TSH is not measurable at < 0.02, my FT4 is within range at 20.9 (11-22.7) and my FT3 is 5.9 (3.5 -6.5), much higher than it has ever been before. My previous results on 15/04 were TSH 0.02, FT4 23.6 (12-22), FT3 4.7 (3.1-6.8). These

Thyroid test results
I’ve been taking 200mg of thyroxine for most of my adult life. Now the doctors have reduced to 150mg I returned to the doctors to say I felt awful. All my symptoms were returning. So they issued another blood test. They have came back saying my TSH level is too low and reduced my dose even more.

Could thyroid be causing the issues ?
I have enclosed my daughters ( age 22 ) last thyroid result panel. Her TSH in June last year was over 6 then swung down to under 2 in September but is on the rise again. Her T3/ T4 are always just above minimum. Her father has Hashimoto’s as did her Grandfather and so does her male cousin. Grandad unfortunately

Graves - blood test
I bit the bullet and have messaged the GP this morning and requested a blood test ... I'll wait and see if they'll allow it. I realised whilst crying AGAIN in the shower this morning that something was very wrong, as I was struggling to get up again this morning, unable to go for my usual walk and crying

Hashimoto’s or Graves’ symptoms or…? Help to clarify please.
Hi everybody! I’m new here. Would be very grateful for your advice. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s 17 years ago. It was in different country not in the UK. I have never been on medication as I was told if my T4 level is ok I don’t need any pills. I’m now in UK for about 5 years. I’ve never seen endocrinologist

Sensitive - How long does it take to get a negative pregnancy test after miscarriage?
Hi all, I took medication for a miscarriage on Dec 23rd (due to a empty 3cm sac). I was told the hcg pregnancy test should be negative 3 weeks after, which will be Saturday. I took the HCG test this morning and the test line is still almost as dark as the control. I was expecting the test to be negative

Well I never expected that , Endo appointment Thursday at 5 pm
So I am in Liverpool, I have asked 4 times over the last 3 or 4 years for a referral nand refused each time. Following on from Sneaky GP saga, GP lying that I consented to reduction in meds in November. I asked for her entry in my notes to be removed as it was incorrect and it has not been. They refuse

Iron Deficiency and Iron Deficiency Anemia: Potential Risk Factors in Bone Loss
Members are likely all too familiar with patients being told that they are suffering osteopenia or osteoporosis due to having too much thyroid hormone. And, especially, too much T3. While it is important to realise that there is a case to be made regarding excess thyroid hormone, it is just as important

Feeling like something stuck in my throat on swallowing - any thoughts please
Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone else had experienced the same thing ? I guess it is down to some issue in my thyroid - but there are no visual lumps externally, just this weird sensation on swallowing. It started in March . Three weeks ago I have had annual bloods by GP and as my TSH is suppressed

IGF-1 Blood Test
I have had the results of my IGF-1 blood test. It’s 26.4nmol/L. The endo has said he thinks it’s because I’m over medicated with my thyroid medication. He’s arranged an OGTT. I’m currently on 75mcg T4 and 10mcg T3. I recently lowered the dose from 100mcg/10mcg. I had been on that dose for a long time
