Tocilizumab - success or problems experienced please?
I have read lots about how it works, the pitfalls the time it might take to work and how it is administered. Had so many failures, drugs that don't work or that I have bad reactions too, so am a tad trepidatious about this one but very hopeful too, that this might just be the one that works for me. Wonder

Having vaccine on a Actemra day?
Has anyone heard whether it isn’t a good idea to have the jab on the same day as your
Tocilizumab
day?

When to take anti histamine
I've recently started on
Tocilizumab
and I've noticed that I get a slight reaction the day after (tiny very itchy blisters on hands). The rheumy dept gave me a course of Piriton tabs when I did my first injection in case of any reaction.

any info about using cobimetinib, an IL-6 inhibitor, for PMR?
I've been reading the posts on this forum about Actemra (
tocilizumab
) and suppression of IL-6, the cytokine causing the negative symptoms of PMR. Searching the web led me to a scientific conjecture from 2018 that combimetinib may be useful for treating PMR.

Rheumy appointment outcome. Tocilizumab is it good? Any actual experiences I would love to hear?
Tocilizumab
to start as soon as can be arranged, but probably a month. Meantime, I need to have a chest Xray my breathing is not quite as it was, also will need to have video chat with the biologics nurse. Anyway, thank you all for your feedback and support.

Sudden changes and questions re Tocilizumab
It turns out that I have been approved for
Tocilizumab
. That was quick. I was only diagnosed on 6th Oct! I feel everything is running away with me and I can't catch up.

Hello everyone, I have GCA and within the last 6 months I have had two relapses. I couldn’t get on with Methotrexate and after my latest relapse I had to increase Pred from 15 mg to 25 mg to get control of the symptoms. Travel.
I have to take weekly injections of
Tocilizumab
which need to be kept refrigerated so can anyone recommend a good reliable cool box of convenient size that would last a fairly long journey to Canada or the US until I could get to a hotel?

Rheumatoid Arthritis and Heart Disease: 28 Ways You Can Lower Your Risk
Interleukin-6 inhibitors include
tocilizumab
(Actemra) and sarilumab (Kevzara). These drugs work well for some RA patients, so unless you already have high cholesterol there’s no need to dismiss them out of hand.

Injection Reaction
hey there, I’ve been getting red and swollen reactions every time I do my weekly
tocilizumab
injections, despite following all advice from my rheumy team. I am thinking about what antihistamine might work best, and was wondering for any suggestions?

Would love some advice
In the meantime I need to have bloods done for the request for
Tocilizumab
and said she would only ring if the results had increased. I don't seem to be able to write a short message do I... so sorry about that, but hope I have made some sense.
