ABPA and then the flu
First of all, I would like to say I am so happy to have found this forum. I recently got diagnosed with ABPA with bronchiectasis and have been in denial about it (I’m 37 and was previously a pretty well controlled asthmatic). Then I contracted influenza A (though I got the flu vaccine) and had a reality

Daily Sputum from coughing
Good afternoon everyone, I suffer with severe Bronchiectasis and I use my nebuliser/postural draining daily to bring up Sputum. I use ventolin and saline Nebs to do this. I usually can cough up a sample container full in the morning and then less as the day goes on. When I have an infection coming in

Bronchiectasis
Hi, This is my first post here. Diagnosed with non CF bronchiectasis last year after a five year period of on/off coughing fits and infections. Physio gave me a flutter device which I use faithfully every day. I also have crohn's disease and take immuno-suppressants which may have been the cause of bronchiectasis

Pocket nebuliser
Hi All, Lidl will be selling their pocket nebuliser again from Thursday 4th January. I can highly recommend it, I bought one 5 years ago and I am still using it. It is very quiet, it works like a vape machine; I can take it on the train with me commuting to work, as well camping when I take the scouts

Hiya all, I have a nebuliser and the consultant suggested I use it with saline, which I have, but I am never sure how many times a day to use it. Any suggestions?

FCR on Flair trial at Christie Hospital
71yr male diagnosed 2yrs ago, CLL (Binet stage B) researched specialists and decided on Dr Bloor at Christie Hospital in Manchester, an excellent choice. W&W for 18 months until he found a mass of raised lymph nodes in my abdomen. Dr Bloor suggested the Flair trial and I was randomised for FCR beginning

When will this end?
Firstly, let me wish you all a very Happy New Year and I hope everyone has an enjoyable time tonight. Not sure where to start with my continuing asthma story. I have been having an exacerbation for the last 7 weeks due to a viral cough caught from my DH. He still has a cough after nearly 9 weeks but

Feeling down
Sorry I'm not sure where to put this and I'm sorry if I'm rambling on! I posted a week or so ago about my husband! He had a Spontaneous Pnumothorax. Anyway he has his follow up appointment on the 4th Jan. I'm literally tearing myself up inside and have already convinced myself they will diagnose either

Mum has severe COPD and now has pneumonia.... any advice?
Hi there. My mum has severe COPD , lung capacity between 20-25%. She was diagnosed 5 years ago. Has been a heavy smoker since she was 8 years old and is now 58. She still continues to smoke. And just 2 days ago she got diagnosed with pneumonia..... I googled the combination of this disease with COPD

Spacer cleaning with baby steriliser?
I alway follow the 'wash with little soapy water then leave to dry' for my spacer, however I'm now having to use various tubing for airways clearance; which of course I clean each time. I thought it would be quicker/easier if I used a baby steriliser machine. I read you can use them for nebuliser parts
