Marroned by stair lift

Needing to go to the toilet i got on stairlift started then stopped called for frank he managed to get me up stairs with it But would not have it coming downstairs so i was stuck upstairs gasping for Breathe and very anxious had nebuliser and had to take extra anxiety tablet frank wanted me to go out today Because he said he can see me withdrawing Back to Bedroommost of the time well with stair lift out of bounds would be no option it was 6.30 pm .He phoned the company north east stairlifts and they where here by 8pm and had it working cant praise them enough however now i am getting anxious that it will pack up mid stream Best wishes for 2018 to all .

Quiet But son and grandson called in the afternoon to see us which was nice then son came for his dinner on boxing day he had been up since 4.30 am for work think frank was pleased to cook for him because i am eating like a bird and mainly havng complan hope your xmas was good i read your husband did the cooking thank god for our men xxx

Oh dear! sorry to hear about stairlift I had installed vertical lift 6 wks ago and it stopped with me in it. Lucky had mobile and niece rescued me, service engineer then arrived. Please don't let it make you withdraw although must say never travel in mine without mobile phone. (Would have no friends no's to use one in lift). Wishing you a Happy New Year.

They fixed it last night although i dont know if its still working i am still in Bedroom frank wants me to get Dressed and go out says im turning into a recluse again love Margaret xxx

Hello Time_2_drink, That was a brilliant response from your lift engineers hope all the companies are as good especially at a time of bad weather and Christmas holidays. Understand your anxiety about something happening again but hopefully Frank can sort it if it does. Not sure how I would cope as I live alone, have a crank but I can't turn it due to arthritic hands , proves the case that nothing is a perfect solution. All things aside, hope you have a pleasant new year and thank you for the greetings to us all x

Kate I was very impressed by there response im sure you can imagine the thoughtd that were going through my head when it stopped .Frank has gone to do some shopping wanted me to go but i have promised to go for a drive with him when he gets Back he is worried that i am spending to much timeupstairs again matron comes tomorrow after her holidays will speak to her again about anxiety hope you had a good xmas x

I had a good xmas thank you. But the snow and ice are limiting my outdoor trips in case I trip Hope you enjoyed your ride out with Frank and all goes well with the matron visit today. Anxiety is difficult to deal with and everyones fears are different. So have a good day downstairs hopefully.x

hi I'm struggling to keep warm tonight got heating on , layers of clothes, socks, chair heater on, blankets round me too plus micro wheat pad. Guessing it must be very cold outside, but it felt quite warm when out earlier, I treated myself to one of those machines that boils water for tea instead of a new kettle. It's called a breville hot cup, its brilliant everything is push button and if you leave your cup on the stand it fills it when boiled. Boils a mug at a time, fast boil too.. stay warm if possible in this bitterly cold weather x

Hi kate Beat you to it ive had one for 2years they are Brilliant much easier than a kettle on our second luckily i had kept reciept so it was rexchanged we have found it a Boon .im sure you will too .My son got one first he loves it .you where lucky to get a little bit of better weather for your foray out ive not Been out since Hospice on 22 nd to be honest i am stressing about going this wednesday Breathe easy doesnt start again till the 8 th really need to try and conquer anxiety again enjoy your new purchase The snow has stopped now hope you can get warm xx

Morning Margaret, my life goes back to usual next week, tea with family on tuesday, widows wednesday & Saturday, hairdressers Thursday. Going to these things can cause anxeity, just the act of going out and the risk of a fall or being taken ill, it took about four hours to get comfy warm. It is much easier to stay home and take things easy, but going out means you meet people for a chat, that's why I try to get out regular.

Hello Margaret good to see you posting again. Did ther engineer tell you what the problem was with the stair lift? You need to have confidence in it. I've had mine 7 years now and it's been faultless. An annual service contract is well worth the money.

He told frank what it was we rent the lift and the service is part of the rental cant remember off hand when it was installed but i have the paperwork pay a years rental upfront. This is the second time i have had them out hope all will go smoothly from now on one can hope lol x

Best wishes for 2018 to you too, Margaret. I think you achieved a lot in 2017, even though it might not seem that way to you. I'm having a hard time at the moment with infections and sob and it seems like I'm never going to see the end of it. But hope spring eternal, so I'm waiting for a miracle.

Thank you moy I was so pleased with engineers response .I am trying not to go Back over But it is so hard and so easy just to stay cocooned in Bedroom in fact I am worrying about hospice starting again next week silly isnt it xx

Thank you cas it was a pleasent shock when they responded so quickly and holiday period to i have nightmares about Being stranded. Half way up stairs I have lost confdence to go out going to have to try to Beat it .I Hope you are doing ok and send my love and pray for a good new year for you and yours love Margaret xxx
