Asthma attack
My asthma has been really bad the past couple of days, have been wheezing quite a lot but just got by until Sunday morning it was x10 worse from 10am -2pm. I rang 111 and they told me to get it checked at the hospital. I was given a nebuliser twice, fluids and had several tests and xrays done. I’m now

New to this group and hoping for thoughts
Hi, My local hospital are struggling and I am stuck in a round of catch 22 so hoping that there may be someone who can point me in a better direction! I have had asthma since childhood, generally only exacerbated by virus or allergies. 9 years ago everything went haywire and I ended up having very frequent

Two questions about my asthma
Hi, I have been struggling for 3 months with my asthma ever since I had the flu in February. I've already posted something here a couple of weeks ago but as I still don't feel good and no one around me really understands how bad I feel (not even the doctors) I figured talking to people who had the

Bad spell of asthma
My partner has had asthma all his life but has been well controlled as an adult. Since January he has suddenly had problems. He was taking salbutamol & lowest dose seretide. He has now been increased to Seretide 500 & given atrovent inhaler & a nebuliser. How often should he be using the atrovent nebules

Using a nebuliser
Even though I have had double lobectomies and experience serious breathing problems I only use a nebuliser when I feel I need to.I follow my feelings because I have met people who have become dependent on nebulisers which has made their life worse as they are constantly using their nebuliser instead

Flare ups
Has a severe asthmatic if my albuterol inhaler and nebulizer is not working after 20 Puffs and 10 vials I go to the ER. Sometimes I don't even make it up to that and end up calling an ambulance. Seriously call 911 before you start panicking.

An Interesting Thought Has Crossed My Mind Re The Current Vitamin A/Alveoli Research.
There is at the present time encouraging research showing that retinoid acid, the active agent in vitamin A, can, AND HAS, in experimental lab animals, RESTORED ALVEOLI! Of course big med and big pharma will make sure "it requires 25 more years of research." But ignoring that, here is my thought: In

What are your asthma flares like?
Question for the community: what are your severe asthma flares like? I’m in the middle of one and really struggling. The way mine manifest is: 1) I encounter a mild allergen such as dust or pet hair on someone’s clothes 2) I get allergic then the asthma kicks in and it becomes progressively hard to take

Which nebuliser?
Hi all, I've seen my doctor and he has given me prescription for meds to put in a nebuliser for when Im in danger of an excaserbation. I just need to know which one to buy, is it ok to buy a portable one or any suggestions please? He thinks it's a good idea to be prepared but he can't prescribe one

The horse is dead! (A follow up from my last post)
So after being nebbed to death, yesterday the reg I saw asked me to stop reg nebs and try with just vent and PRN nebs. I suggested hydrocortisone therapy (again) but was told it’s the same as taking steroids etc etc (🤦♀️). Name dropped my old spec hospital where I had it done and suddenly she told

Flogging a dead horse... when will they admit defeat?
A really crappy Easter weekend... now feeling really frustrated (and very teary!). I’m fed up of being ignored by docs (and ashamed for feeling that way cause I know I was due a ‘bad’ admission so I feel guilty for feeling so upset). To sum it up, I ended up in a&e last Thursday (17 days after my last

Can't breathe
I'm desperate here. The past few days my breathing has been so bad that I can't even walk to the bathroom without feeling like I'll never catch my breath again. Its so scary.
