Using a nebuliser

Even though I have had double lobectomies and experience serious breathing problems I only use a nebuliser when I feel I need to.I follow my feelings because I have met people who have become dependent on nebulisers which has made their life worse as they are constantly using their nebuliser instead of trying to help themselves and live without them I believe that once the body starts to rely on anti-biotics or Nebulisers the mind becomes addicted to them and it is much harder to cope with the condition.(I may be wrong but this is the way I have developed to cope with my condition but it may not suit other people)

All I know is that Pete needs to use his nebuliser twice daily as it helps him bring up mucus and breathe more easily. He takes Azithromycin three times a week to help keep chest infections at bay.

I’m glad things work differently for you and hope you can continue that way. Xxx

I agree with your views and think the body can become reliant on medication and I am loathe to use them all the time, however my condition is only mild so am lucky. My neighbour who has copd, had a spell in hospital for his spleen and was put onto a nebuliser and hasnt come off it since, he is now on morphine as well and is so much worse, he now doesnt move out of the chair as he cant breathe, i could be wrong, but dont think any of this has done him much good as he wasnt this bad before going onto the nebuliser.
