My AF history
For the AF, he prescribed
Tikosyn
or Defetilide, an antiarrhythmic drug. So far, for the last six months since having the pacemaker implanted and taking the Dofetilide, I feel great with no AF at all and full of energy like never before.

Doing things different today
The doc put me on
tikosyn
. I will be getting my fourth dose shortly. As of right now I'm not feeling well. I'm a little dizzy, have a headache and a bit of chest discomfort. I am losing my energy like I have been having.

Final step
The bad news is the med
Tikosyn
was my last med resort. I am not tolerating it so they stopped it. The good news is I am being transferred from Moore Regional (Pinehurst, NC USA) to Eastern Carolina University Medical center (Greenville, NC USA). I have to have the sympathetic nerve severance.

Back In It Again!!
EP says I have 4 options. 1) Amiodrone 2)
Tikosyn
,3) another ablation,4 Just live with it. Been reading about Amiodrone nad have come to the conclusion it may work for others but I don't like the side effects associated with it.

New here long term Tikosyn good idea or not
Af has been more problematic for a few years so new ep started me on
Tikosyn
with the plan to repeat rf ablation in a few months. Now he has changed his mind and wants to just keep me on
Tikosyn
as he thinks that there wouldn't be anything left to ablate.

Widowed
I am on metropolol, losartan, lipitor, xarelto, lasix, klor con and
tikosyn
. I am too old for an ablation procedure - 85-year-old female. Any suggestions on how to deal with the breathlessness would be greatly appreciated.

Poor Circulation
I am a 75 year old female and I have A-Fib and emphysema & take
Tikosyn
& Eliqus for A-Fib. During the last year, I've noticed a splotziness on my legs and now beginning on my arms. My primary said it was due to poor circulation. When I asked what I could do about it, she said nothing.

ATRIAL FIBRILATION
The
Tikosyn
started working within 24 hours and I am still taking it today. It is expensive, but worth it. The doctor has also switched me from Warfarin to Eliquis, an anticoagulant that does not have to be monitored.

Questions?
Sure,I might be off
Tikosyn
, carvedilol and maybe the pravachol but the ones I'm most concerned with I'd still be on. Now. I'm just not sure about considering this at all. My ep asked me how I feel. I told him I can count the days on my right hand when I woke up feeling really good.

One more chance???
They are considering a switch to
Tikosyn
( dofitilide) which is unavailable in the Europe and /or a 3rd ablation - this time with the newer cyro balloon method.

Had my ablation
I'm still on
Tikosyn
and metoprolol but hope I can go of those also on Coumadin . I'm 71 yrs old so hopefully this will give me a good quality of life. Seeing I feel so good now what does everyone think of my chances of this happening ? Thanks Gail ♥️♥️♥️♥️

Feeling Bummed out!!
Thought that since I was on the
tikosyn
it would allow me to go back to doing the things I was doing before within reason. First Afib attack since I've been on the meds. The good thing is that my heart went back into regular rhythm. The bad thing is the not knowing when this will happen again.

Goals
I'm taking Eliquis,Lipitor, Coreg,
Tikosyn
and Plavix. I believe sometimes that less is more. I'd like to either reduce or eliminate most of the drugs other than the anticoagulants that I need due to the stents and maybe the
Tikosyn
. I never took ANY meds until last year.

Tikosyn it is!!!
I told the EP that I thought that the treatment for me should be either do nothing or
Tikosyn
. He said something to me that I won't ever forget. He said. You can do nothing and the AFIB may be quiet for awhile but eventually you will get worse and that's the facts.

It's Official
He wants me to start taking
Tikosyn
. I asked him how it would effect my exercising(biking, swimming). Said I may have to modify what I do. He has some concerns since my heart rate is low to start off with. He layed out a whole course we could take from meds to pacemaker.
