Afib or PACS
My afib/flutter has been well controlled in recent months with
Tikosyn
and propranolol and my year old pacemaker but the past few evenings following dinner I have had episodes of very brief tachycardia. I wear an apple watch so have quickly checked and can see jump to 120 and last night 150.

First AF Ablation this week
AF was well controlled with bisoprolol for 5+ years, but I was put on anti-arrhythmic meds (first Sotalol, and then
Tikosyn
), which both failed.

Coming off dofetilide (Tikosyn)
Just an update on my 57 year old husband, he just had a check up appointment with his EP (in the USA) and he is finally being taken off of Dofetilide (
Tikosyn
) after a year and a half so we are very pleased.

Update on my husband who stopped dofetilide (Tikosyn) after ablation
Update on my husband (57) who finally stopped dofetilide (
Tikosyn
) after having had an ablation last October. Well, after only a week, AF came back! (possibly triggered by alcohol). The doc said to go back on the dofetilide and up the metoprolol for his high heart rate.

Living with AFIB how?
My EP wants to do a cardio version keep me in hospital for 3 days to observe me on
tikosyn
then if I’m ok keep me on it. My first and strong reaction to this is NO. I cannot bear the thought of putting more poison into my body that I know from the past I won’t be able to tolerate .

Felcainide vs. Tikosyn
My cardiologist would like me to switch to
tikosyn
but is leaving the decision up to my EP. I'll be seeing my EP soon and would like to discuss a change with him. Does anyone have any positive or negative experiences with
tikosyn
that they'd like to share?

Antiarrhythmic drug identified as potential treatment for pulmonary arterial hypertension
A new study in The American Journal of Pathology sheds light on the pathology underlying PAH and shows that dofetilide, an FDA-approved KV11.1 channel blocker for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias (brand name:
Tikosyn
), may be used for treatment of PAH. https://medicalxpress.com/news/2019-12-antiarrhythmic-drug-potential-treatment-pulmonary.html

Antiarrhthmic drugs working great, but scheduled for ablation
They started him on the antiarrhythmic drug Dofetilide (
Tikosyn
) , in the hope that his heart would convert to NSR but it didn't, so after three days he had a cardioversion which worked, and he continued on the Dofetilide.

Tikosyn
Has anyone here ever been on
Tikosyn
and got off of it? I am a PAF’er but NOT SVT’er. I had cryoablation about 5 months ago. Still have AF 2-3 times a month but big reduction in symptoms, duration and frequency. I’m questioning whether my
Tikosyn
is making any difference.

Can anyone tell me about tikosyn
Anyone have any experience with this. I had an ablation last July, currently use flecainide and recently had 3 breakthroughs, one lasting about 26 hours. The PA for my electrophysiologist is talking about this drug. I've not heard any thing about it. I'm currently 65, will be fully retired from work

Methods to convert AF to NSR
So I tried the pharmaceutical route first,
Tikosyn
. After 2 weeks I was still in persistent AF. I'm an active sort and had avoided all heavy activity since going persistent AF. So after a couple of weeks of no change I decided I was going to shovel snow as I was sick of doing nothing.

Tikosyn so far Success
The only other alternative, because I had so ablations , was to try the medication
Tikosyn
with a cardioversion which I did yesterday. I am now beating around 60 the Adema in my legs has gone down and I feel fantastic.

What next, if anything?
Does anyone have any recommendations as what might be the next course of action after 6 cardioversions, an ablation, flecainide,
tikosyn
...and nothing works. I'm in afib all the time and just getting darn tired, literally and figuratively. I've tried taurine (which actually helped for awhile!)

Hair loss
Hi, I am on
Tikosyn
and Eliquis and am having severe hair loss . I am thinking it is one of those medicines. I have been on them for 5 months now, does anyone else have this problem with either of these meds?
