NDT taken at same time as Trospium - issues
I hope this is OK to post here? Taking NDT at the same time of another medication may have implications. I’ve been on NDT for the past few months, replacing Levothyroxine. Having been taking Levo first thing in the morning, I continued with taking NDT at the same time. So, having taking Trospium

Help with timing, drinks etc for MonitorMyHealth Test
I was wondering what the best practice is for taking blood samples at home for a Monitor My Health test. I usually try to sleep 10pm-6am, and I have breakfast around 7.20am. However sometimes I don't sleep that long, for example today I slept from 10pm to 4am and couldn't sleep any more. I usually

How much salt is good for an elderly CKD patient?
I just read a reply to a 77 years old lady advising her to keep her salt low. I wonder if it is good advice for an elderly patient according to a study reported in the periodical Nephrology Dialysis Transplantation titled "Predictive effect of salt intake on patient and kidney survival in non-dialysis

guys I am seeking advice. after having my children in 2013 and 2015 I have never been the same person. I have suffered with every single symptom of hypothyroidism. in the end i actually went hyper for a few years which other than the hair loss and lack of sleep I thought I’d become well again. Well

Thybon v Teva T3
I am changing over from Teva T3 to Thybon T3. I am taking 15 mcg divided into 3 daily doses. I am awaiting a Levo prescription to 'add in', as I have had to stop taking ThyroidS NDT due to 'toxicity' type symptoms. (I have other health issues going on at the moment). Not sure whether the Levo will be

Avoid prescribing desiccated (natural) thyroid extract
The NHS England Specialist Pharmacy Service advice re desiccated thyroid has been updated. Doesn't make much difference! But in case you are interested or need to know, it is linked below. Note that it does NOT say desiccated thyroid
cannot
prescribed. It still contains this bizarre sentence

Are some private endos prescribing NDT so they can keep you as a private patient?!
Corresponding with a member on here today I found in writing a brief description of my private treatment that I am beginning to question some Endo’s motivation for trialling NDT first rather than Liothyronine. Is it maybe a cynical plan to keep you private as NDT is not available on the NHS whereas Liothyronine

Source of NDT or T3?
Looking for some advice. I’ve been having hypothyroid symptoms for years, with FT3 at the very bottom end and often below range the few times I got the doctor to test it. Morning oral temp at 35.8-36.0C Only a couple of times did it approach 50% of range and that was using desiccated thyroid supplements

3 months post-partum - advice on these results?
I was diagnosed with hypo right before I found out I was pregnant last August. Levo was awful for me, so I switched to NDT and have done well on it. Throughout pregnancy, my TSH was optimal and T3 was good too but T4 was difficult to get optimal. I'm on 180mcg of NDT, split 90/90 morning and night

Menopaused. Would starting HRT mean reducing NDT? Has anyone experience of this please?
Hi Everyone, Still searching to be less housebound and energised. It's another thing to try before I throw in the towel. Any thoughts and experiences would be greatly appreciated ,as my TSH continues to decline out of range and T4 andT3 both low in NHS range. every best wish , G

Latest test results
My latest Thyroid results were: TSH 0.05, up from 0.0006; T3 3.2, down from 5.1; T4 8.1, down from 12.1 Not surprising, when you take into account that I was on 3.5 grains of NDT and this was replaced with just 100mcg Levothyroxine and 20mcg Liothyroxine. My dossages have been increased to 150mcg Levo
