Low Dose Naltrexone
( just for background I developed a goitre in 2021, biopsy came back inconclusive so I had a partial
thyroidectomy
2/3rds removed, started levothyroxine but despite my dose increasing my antibodies are still off the chart and my symptoms haven’t improved)

Used to be very low cholesterol before half
thyroidectomy
over 15 years ago due to multi nodular goitre. Now on 75mg Levo. I am also type 2 diabetic for 30 years. Also low ferritin approx 30 despite taking iron daily.

Thyroid ups & downs
I had a total
thyroidectomy
in France in 2012 & I still don't understand what changes occur in the body which require my dose of levoythyroxine to be increased or decreased when I haven't got a thyroid in the first place !

Pub med article challenging traditional TSH-based approach
[i]In a study evaluating tissue function tests before total
thyroidectomy
and at 1 year postoperatively when using LT4, it was found that peripheral tissue function tests indicated mild hyperthyroidism at TSH <0.03 mU/L and mild hypothyroidism at TSH 0.3 to 5.0 mU/L; the tissues were closest to euthyroidism

So very grateful for Thyroid UK
My son will be 48 this year and that’s how long I have had to deal with Hashimotos, though it took until he was at least 5 years old before I got a diagnosis of Hashimotos after
thyroidectomy

Getting a thyroidectomy soon, what to expect?
Hi, recently diagnosed with a tumour in my thyroid, so team at hospital will be removing the whole thing soon. I am overwhelmed with all this stuff I've been reading here about T4/T3, vitamins, calcium etc. I thought I just had to take a tablet every day, dosage might be adjusted if necessary, but that

New Thyroid Results - Conversion Issue?
Hi, After an emotional Thyroid rollercoaster these past couple years (post partial
thyroidectomy
12/2/21 in combination with an Endo who doesn't believe in compounded medication), I finally seem to be settling into a medication and dose that works okay.

Mounjaro for weight gain after thyroidectomy
He said some weight gain is common, but not alot, which I disagree with as I know many women who have gained 40+ pounds after a
thyroidectomy
. I asked my GP about mounjaro and she thinks it could be really helpful to kick start some weight loss after this.

Total thyroidectomy, remnants and euthroyx.
The surgeon who performed my total
thyroidectomy
says the remnants won't make a difference on my blood results. Any advise on whether to up my meds or not as I feel so despondent at the moment. Thank you

Partial thyroidectomy and parathyroid glands
Anyone know whether surgeons try to preserve the parathyroid glands associated with the half-thyroid removed during a hemithyroidectomy? I would imagine that they're tricky to preserve so I wouldn't be surprised if they just whip them out along with the half-thyroid being removed.

Jaw/Tooth ache with Liothyronine
In previous posts I've mentioned my poor conversion of T4 to T3 following
thyroidectomy
over 2 years ago. As a consequence in January I went to a private endo and got a script for 90 tablets of Thybon Henning T3 20mcg which I got from Roseway Labs.

anyone opted for Watch and Wait with indeterminate nodules thy3f? Looking for people with similar previous experience to make up my mind
Doctors recommended total
thyroidectomy
. Because doing hemi will still leave them in the dark about what’s on the other side. My nodules are thy3f, risk of malignancy from 10-30%. I have 70% cgance it’s not cancer but I cannot know for sure.

Fine needle aspiration 🤔
He also noted I was very thyrotoxicosis as my T3, T4 were very high before
thyroidectomy
my antibodies were extremely high and on my scan it took up in both lobs which requires full
thyroidectomy
, which I had in 2019.

Accord
Hi I’ve been taking Accord for the last year after taking Northstar since my
thyroidectomy
15 years ago. Over the last 6 weeks I have been having strange symptoms. Lots of burping loads of cattargh. Feeling nauseous. It’s making me feel rotten. Also bad anxiety. I take 125mg per day.
