Weird question about voice a yr after thyroidectomy
I had a
thyroidectomy
almost 14 months ago and been having voice issues off and on ever since and really never given much thought to it until recently when this screeching noise that I've been experiencing for past year has suddenly increased in frequency and volume.

Post thyroidectomy T3 confusion!
Thank you in advance to anyone who reads this and can help me. I thought that due to thryoidectomy and a long period of rest and recuperation that life would finally seem a whole lot better! I saw enocrinologist early December and got my results yesterday which have totally confused me! (Also, I am

T3 Only
I am
thyroidectomy
with thyroid cancer. This is based on evidence that T4 promotes growth of existing solid tumors. I was on Naturethroid 1 grain three times daily. So far I have transitioned to Cytomel (generic) 25 mcg morning and Naturethroid 1 gr. afternoon.

Thyroid Test numbers
Little background:
Thyroidectomy
(Cancer) so my TSH must be kept low, so I'm told. I do feel better than I have in over a year but I'm weirded out by the reduction in Synthyroid. Do my numbers look good or could my T3 be higher?

Partial Thyroidectomy Tomorrow
Hi everyone. Sending out love and healing to everyone here suffering from thyroid issues! I have a uninodular toxic goiter/goitre that I first noticed at 17. Since my levels weren't "bad enough" to push surgery on me initially, I avoided the advice of multiple doctors over the years, mostly because

Feedback loop TSH/T4/T3
The thyroid gland is a key player, and the feedback loop cannot be expected to work well when there is no thyroid gland (RAI or
thyroidectomy
) or a poorly functioning one. The graphic above illustrates these key points: manual T4-only supplementation has a negative effect on TSH.

Update on my thyroidectomy for a large goitre
Just wanted to let people know that I underwent a TT for a large multinodular goitre a few days ago. The advice I was given on this forum prior to having the op done was excellent and led me to seek a second opinion on having the operation. The private endo summerized my options really well and when

On thyroxine 20 + years, now v high t4, low t3
I had a partial
thyroidectomy
, in 1988. I was placed on thyroxine (t4) but always had to change my diet to feel well, to a very spartan diet of fish and veg, and then I felt really well - otherwise very cold, felt mentally flat, etc... This went on for years.

Endo says if I have RAI or
thyroidectomy
the antibodies will probably attack the eyes. Eye hospital says it's not a foregone conclusion that this will happen sounds to me that it's all a bit hit and miss. Think I will try and stay on Carbimazole as long as possible.

Life after cancer
I had total
thyroidectomy
done August of last year. I had micropapillary thyroid cancer, plus hyperparathyroidism. God was so good and answered my prayers for a successful operation. Now, getting my thyroid level right with Synthroid is the next challenge.

Different types of symptoms for different kinds of hypo?
It speculates that the sudden loss of hormone function through
thyroidectomy
may cause anxiety that affects executive function in a different way from slowly progressing or long term thyroid failure.

Hypothyroidism and Hypoglycemia
I've been on a mission to shed the 35 pounds I've gained over the past 13 months after my
thyroidectomy
and one of the ways has been to cut back on my carbs I have a small amount of carbs at dinner time and this is when my hypoglycemia symptoms seem to happen to me (after) 1-2 hours of eating my husband

Severely swollen feet and ankles with fibro
I had to have plasma dialysis for ten days so that I could have an emergency
thyroidectomy
. I’m wondering if it’s fibro or something to do with my illness last year. I know the cold wet weather seems to infuriate most people’s fibro but I’ve never had this before.
