Swollen & sore neck after thyroidectomy
Hi Everyone, I had a thyroidectomy three weeks ago. My wound is healing well but my whole neck is still very swollen and sore. I also have very lumpy lymph nodes above my wound. Can anyone tell me if this normal please?

Liothyronine (LT3) prescribing in England: Are cost constraints inhibiting guideline implementation?
Whatever else, this demonstrates beyond any doubt that the cost of the liothyronine Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient is but a minor part of the price charged to the NHS. I'd argue that the simple fact that the NHS agrees these prices strongly suggests something VERY wrong with medicines procurement.

The Differential Diagnosis of Discrepant Thyroid Function Tests: Insistent Pitfalls & Updated Flow-Chart Based on a Long-Standing Experience
We often see members posting results which, at least initially, are odd and maybe make little sense. This paper recognises and discusses such test results. Quite long and takes some effort to read - but worth it if you are interested. [i]

What else to increase T3? Tried everything ...
Hello beautiful people, My latest TSH is 0.66 and had to lower thyroxine just a bit (from 100/88 to just 88) as was getting some hyper symptoms and felt way better with a lower dose, finally have energy and drive again! My T4 is healthy range, 60% through. However, my T3 dropped to just 10% of the range

Could thyroid be causing the issues ?
I have enclosed my daughters ( age 22 ) last thyroid result panel. Her TSH in June last year was over 6 then swung down to under 2 in September but is on the rise again. Her T3/ T4 are always just above minimum. Her father has Hashimoto’s as did her Grandfather and so does her male cousin. Grandad unfortunately

New research. Linking Amiodarone inhibiting levothyroxine just published.
I'm a little staggered this is new!! But it is.... And I've experienced a lot of problems with ndt tolerance level even 7 months since Amiodarone was stopped. Beginning to wonder whether Amiodarones had a permenant effect. In Vivo Evaluation of the Pharmacokinetic Interaction between Levothyroxine

Advice on raising NDT
Following on from my post on 26/02/24, my symptoms got worse (increased number of anxiety attacks and unable to cope with pain in head/neck and upper back) and the GP didn't have any ideas, so I saw a thyroid specialist recommended by thyroid UK in April. The doctor had my blood tests done and these

Hashimoto's remission
Hello, is it possible to put your antibodies (TgAb and TPOAb) into remission (i.e zero) on Levothyroxine only, following a root cause approach to lifestyle? Has anyone achieved this, or is NDT required? TIA

What is the recommended medication to start on please?
I'm having a telephone consultation with my endocrinologist tonight & after a lot of reading (on this site as well) I'm considering asking for NDT? This will be my first time being medicated so would really appreciate any advice from you? You all have far more experience than I & have been invaluable

Need help with understanding my daily 2:30 pm episodes
Hey everyone, I've been having a difficult time lately. I started getting these episodes around 2:30 pm where I'd become blurred out, fatigued, breathless, puffy, shaky, dehydrated etc. This has been going for about 6 months daily, it's exhausting, I have no life after 2 pm. I take 2.5 Armour + 7.5

For anyone who is on T3 only... When did you realise you needed it?
Hi everyone. I've been on a real journey since January with Hashimoto's. I started on levothyroxine and it made me feel a lot worse. I started seeing a private thyroid doctor who looked at my bloods and saw my T3 had dropped on levo, and with my symptoms she decided levo was not right for me and put
