Changing to ERFA
Hi guys. I’ve been taking armour for a few years, but I find I’ve been getting chest pains, and struggling with various symptoms. Does anyone here take ERFA? That option is open to me, but I wanted to get some information first before making a switch. I’m even considering synthetic T3/T4 combo. Any

Thyroid causing problems?
I have an underactive thyroid-diagnosed 2018. recently I have been experiencing bad anxiety and depression (also diagnosed for many years). Had anti depressants upped a couple of months ago but notice no difference. Just noticed t3 and t4 haven’t been tested since 2021. Do GPs just tend to check TSH

Could chronic urticaria be related to underactive thyroid?
I've had under active thyroid for 5/6 years and have been on a dose of 50mcg of Levothyroxine for all of this time. This year I developed chronic urticaria and then a different kind of dermatitis/eczema and I want to rip my skin off it's so itchy. This week I did an Advanced Thyroid Function Blood Test

Thyroid hormones in the regulation of brown adipose tissue thermogenesis
This paper is the fourth most-cited in 2023 from the Endocrine Connections journal. Basic thyroid research is interesting. It is read. Scientists and some medical professionals do want more understanding. As do patients. It gets pretty complicated but the point is, thyroid hormone controls temperature

Heavy, prolonged periods
Could this be related to thyroid problems? All my life my cycles have been like clockwork. This last year though they've been extremely heavy, painful and long. I've actually been bleeding for over 2 weeks on and off now. It's really getting me down, and causing other very unpleasant symptoms. I developed

Ukrainian returns to Kyiv for thyroid testing
Newspapers today are carrying the story of a Ukranian Refugee unable to obtain an appointment with her Glasgow GP felt it necessary to return to war torn Kyiv for thyroid monitoring. Although it didn't give details of her thyroid problem, I couldn't help but think that even had she obtained that elusive

I’m one of the 20%
20% of autoimmune thyroid patients never have high thyroid antibodies and ultrasound scan of thyroid can get diagnosis. What would show up on the ultrasound scan to indicate hypothyroidism

USA changes status of NDT products. Their 'Grandfathered' status is to be removed.
All NDT products status will be changed from natural to biological and as such will have to go through the same rigorous process as is expected of other biologic drugs. They must comply with this and be approved by 2029 to continue. In addition the FDA has given permission to individual state to ban

Thyroid-S
Hi I started taking a new bottle of Thyroid-S. Batch number TA22024. But I don't feel the same as on my previous Thyroid-S. I think they're either too strong or too weak. The colour is also different. It is more green. Is someone taking this batch number who can advise me on this batch please? Update

Thyroid Function Tests
Hi just a quick question. A GP I’ve never seen before said he would do full Thyroid bloods after I had a week of palpitations. The blood form stated TFT which I presume is Thyroid Function Tests. My results are back & all that has been done is my TSH. What a waste of my time. Any suggestions on what

Armour thyroid
I have been on armour for several years and my endo is aware. 2 months ago I had a blood test which showed my levels were fairly low, TSH was 8 ish and t3 and t4 were low. So I increased my dose slightly whilst waiting for a further endo appointment. Within a couple of weeks I was hyper, no blood test

Help with getting a diagnosis
Hi all, I have been struggling for years now with symptoms of hypothyroidism. It’s all really come on over the last couple of years. My weight is out of control, I’m freezing all the time, my hair is dry and brittle, plus many other textbook underactive thyroid symptoms. I’ve been to the doctors

Worried about recent test results
My most recent test results are concerning. I've never had elevated Tg antibodies, only slightly elevatdd Tpo. TPO 210 Tg 971 TSH 1.85 T3 3.2 T4 17.3 What could the high tg anti mean? I'm worried about Thyroid cancer since I have never had this befire and I thought that only tpo was linked to autoimmunity
