Late period after starting Levothyroxine
Has anyone had a delayed period after starting Levothyroxine? If so when do they normalise and return and is this a common side effect? Thanks!

New to all this.
Im a 47yr old male and have recently been having blood tests after displaying all the standard underactive thyroid symptoms including huge fatigue. After being put on 25mg levothyroxine (to get me started on medication), the most recent tests showed a TSH of 3.6 (coming down from 6.2 on previous test

Hello Firstly, thank you for all the useful information and advice. I started taking 50mcg of levothyroxine in June and had a follow up blood test at the end of August which showed my TSH was 2.54 (0.27 - 4.2). The GP did not increase my dosage of thyroxine and I did not have the energy to push for

Increasing Levothyroxine is not always the answer, it is important to understand all other influencing factors and if T4 is being converted to T3. Izabella Wentz book Hashimoto Protocol is a very comprehensive guide to it all. And finding an Endocrinologist who understands. Youtube Sten Ekberg also helped

Eating & taking levothyroxine
Hi everyone I stupidly brought an empty packet of levothyroxine away with me for the weekend so have called 111 and arranging for an emergency prescription tomorrow morning. The pharmacy opens at 9am so am aiming to get there sharpish. What would folks do about breakfast? I normally take it at 7am

Feel worse on 100mcg Levothyroxine. I felt better on 75mcg. Iām not over medicated. Is this thyroid gland suppression?
Iāve been taking 100mcg now for around 5/6 weeks but i feel worse now than when I was on 75mcg. Iām due to retest in a few weeks. Iāve been trying to figure out why I feel worse. My lastTSH on 75mcg was 0.3 and my T3 was 52% through the range. So I know Iām not over-medicated and 100mcg has probably

I was diagnosed with Hashimotos in 2015. I was treated with 50 micrograms of levothyroxine daily until this March when my Tsh finally crept above the Normal range.(0.55- 4.78). My dose was raised to 75 micrograms. At my 6 month checkup my Tsh had dropped from 4.91 to 0.38. Thanks to the information

what to do??
I am really struggling, I am wondering if I have hashimotos. Diagnosed with an underactive thyroid in march ( the day my dad died) just 6 months after losing my mother in law. Had gone to the drs thinking my HRT needed tweaking for my perimenopause symptoms. (Hair loss, brittle nails, weight gain, sweating

Minimum time on levothyroxine dose before testing levels
What is the minimum time someone should be on a dose of levothyroxine before checking thyroid levels? NHS GP suggests 8 weeks. I had a TSH of 48.2 and FT4 3.9 and started levothyroxine 50mcg daily. I saw a private Endo who said to titrate up to 75mcg for 1 week and then go to 100mcg. I had been on 100mcg

hypothyroidism and peripheral neuropathy
I have hypothyroidism diagnosed in 2019 from a blood test with no symptoms that were recognised as such. I now believe, confirmed by advice in this forum, that my levo dose was too low, and have recently succeeded in getting it increased. At around the same time I developed aching, weakness and numbness

Endocronologist experience
Hi there, I recently had a top end and very experienced endocrinologist tell me that the 1.6mcg of levo per KG in weight was an old fashioned and outdated theory. Is this the case? I have just upped to 100mcg and was just wondering if Iām on the right dose. He seems to think thatās ok for me.

Anti-nuclear factor
Hi all, My most recent test results have, in addition to a high TSH (8.57 mlU/L, normal range 0.27-4.2) despite having had an increase of Levothyroxine to 100mcg in June and a TSH reading of 1.35 in August), my Anti- nuclear factor test has also come back positive, homogenous pattern. Has anyone else
