Blood test

Discontinued Levo 2 mths ago been on NDT since then at 11pm. I have full thyroid blood test next Tue at 9.30am.When do I need to stop taking NDT to get accurate results.

How are you doing - what dose of NDT are you taking, have you been on this dose 6-8 weeks and do you split this dose ?

It's generally recommended to take a fasting blood draw around 10/12 hours from last dose when taking any thyroid hormone treatment option containing T3 :

Are you also testing your core strength vitamins and minerals and supplementing ?

Stop any supplements the week before the blood draw so we measure what your body is holding rather than what you have been ingesting.

Are you self medicating and this blood test for you, and a private blood draw - or the NHS thyroid function test for your doctor to assess your thyroid function ?

Are you moniting on blood pessure, pulse and temprature twice daily - AP and PM and if so are there any changes from your bench mark readings ?

Hi I've been on ndt 12 years now self treat . I leave 15 hrs for optimal results as normaly have my blood test in mornings. I accidently took them same morning earlier this year and had an email from Dr saying needed to discuss my results oops . So I got another blood test done 15 hrs gap .and they were normal . No contact from Dr. I did send them one back to tell them why as apparently they never heard of ndt . Hope it all goes well for you too .
