What comes after Zytiga and Xtandi have failed?
Now they want to put me on
Taxotere
chemo which they say is the only option left. I feel sure there are other options before chemo which I really do not want to do.

Anyway, a 2015 paper reported that Casodex & Xtandi (both antiandrogens) could resensitize PCa to
Taxotere
by inhibiting ABCB1 efflux.

Metformin and Chemotherapy - Synergy?
term=
taxotere
+metformin&rank=1 {
Taxotere
= Docetaxel} I imagine that accrual would be difficult since a CRPC patient should find it easy to get Metformin - so why risk being in the placebo arm.?

Intro
Have tried
taxotere
(didn't work), Provenge and Xtandi. On to Xofigo if PSA still not decreasing on Xtandi. Minimal pain for past year and still very active. PSA nadir of 12 in October, now 32. Two very young kids at home.

Anyone been on Taxotere longer than 10 months?
Husband has been on chemo/
taxotere
since July, 2015. He has tolerated it quite well and it seems to have kept his condition stable without progression, but the lowest his PSA has gotten, after a high of 115, is in the 40 range. He is also taking Eligard and Zometa and prednisone.

Bob's Journey
Twelve years later I've had nearly all the available treatments - ADT, Leukine, Thalidomide, Curcumin, Provenge, Zytiga, Xtandi,
Taxotere
chemo, Xofigo and more chemo. I'm still here though very much weakened by the T deprivation. My QoL is pretty good, thanks to my wonderful wife.

Taxotere
Particularly since it is the first time I heard that you just keep on taking
taxotere
till it stops working or you just can't take the side effects any longer.

So here I am
So In July I started a 6 cycle x 3 week infusion regiment of Doxetaxel (
Taxotere
), and Xgeva (to address the bone lesions). At this time PSA was down to 2.74. By the end of the Chemo, the lymph nodes were back to normal and the liver spots were gone, and PSA was 0.67.

Severe allergic reaction to paclitoxel
My second chemo is scheduled in two week time and docetaxel (
taxotere
) will be used along with carboplatin. My question: has anyone had a similar experience?

What do you think this guy should do?
Protocol for
Taxotere
is one chemo dose every three weeks. This was hurting him, so he is now trying one chemo every six weeks. Gotta have a life while going thru treatment, right?

Zytiga and Xtandi .... what do you think about this?
In ‘2012 he did
Taxotere
when his PSA had a one month doubling rate. Planned to do 6 months, but was stopped at four months with heavy side effects. PSA held, but never slowed down. In early 2013 PSA dropped (from 112 to 77) so plan was to do watchful waiting and then to go on Zytiga.

Taxotere Versus Caelyx
Taxotere
is mixed with other less hypoallergenic substances. ONC has said I can have
Taxotere
or I can stick with the Caelyx but is not really advising me which is best.

IN CASE THIS IS OF INTEREST TO ANYONE.
In addition, the Scottish Randomized Trial in Ovarian Cancer (SCOTROC) trial suggested that as primary treatment, docetaxel (
Taxotere
) and paclitaxel have similar efficacy when combined with carboplatin and that docetaxel produces less neuropathy.
