70 y.o. hypothyroid
I am talking
Synthroid
.88 which was increased from .75 a few months ago. My recent TSH results were 3.3 and my doc says that's perfect. But I am still having symptoms. When I was smoking (stopped over a year ago) my TSH was usually 1.0. I don't understand why it got worse after quitting smoking.

Thyroid changed
I have been taking .75
Synthroid
for years which kept my thyroid level at .1. I felt great and was at normal weight. I quit smoking and my system seemed to just go haywire. My thyroid level went up to 3.3 and I have gained a lot of weight, tiredness, trouble breathing since.

They put me on
Synthroid
.. and I went again and they up-ed my dose because my levels aren't where they needed to be. Well, I go back next month to get my levels checked again. Well... What's happened is I haven't had my period since I had it in May..

Karen Carpenter Autopsy channel 5
Turns out she was taking
Synthroid
(Levo thyroxine equivalent) to aid weight loss and it contributed to her death which was cardiac arrest - she did not have a thyroid condition.

I took the medication because I was out of

Interesting page of info on all things hypoT
The 80 years of experience with thyroid hormone treatment demonstrated that people would normally need 200-400 micrograms of T4, such as
Synthroid
, or 3 to 5 grains of desiccated thyroid.

3 yrs Post Thyroidectomy and can't lose weight, why?
I'm on 212mcg
synthroid
and in the past year my doctor has bumped me up as high as 250mcg and as low as 175mcg. it's on the upward slope again. My TSH level back in January was .0125. (Have not gotten levels checked since due to in and out deployments.)

Nice FB post worth sharing.......
I know, I remained so ill on
Synthroid
for a year. It did NOT work for me. T4 medications are
Synthroid
, Levothyroxine, Thyroxine, etc. They are the INACTIVE hormone. Many MANY of us do not convert it to the ACTIVE hormone very well, which is T3.

TSH dropped from 5.4 to 0.1 in 6 weeks with no intervention except changing when levo taken. Does this make sense?
I am on the generic Levothroid, whose dosage supposedly is not as well-controlled as that of the USA gold standard,
Synthroid
. The endo plans to reduce my dose from 125 mcg to 112 mcg and recheck my TSH in six weeks. At least she won't make me wait three months!

Relatively high TSH but have a hard time staying on synthroid for treatment?
For many years I took
synthroid
without much issue...then over the course of a year or so, I kept needing to reduce my
synthroid
dose due to heart palpitations, nervousness and trouble sleeping.

Hi, I started off on levothyroxine, then armour. Currently on nature thyroid. New doc wants to put me on synthroid?
Then she said she is going to start me on
synthroid
. I'm willing to try anything as been feeling SO crappy but which doctor is right!! I don't want to have another year of trying new meds + changing the doses + still come out the other end feeling like this!!

Sourcing Synthroid
Would someone be willing to send a private message with ideas of where to buy
Synthroid
, not a generic form of T4. Dr S got me stabilised on 125 mcg but my GP will only prescribe 75 mcg. I'm getting more than a bit twitchy. Actually, I don't have enough energy to twitch!
