Crp and ESR still elevated!
Hello, I have been diagnosed with UCTD and
synovitis
in both hands and I’m currently on prednisone 20mg Plaquenil 200mg 2x, Savella 50mg, Gabapentin 400mg. With all that my Crp and esr are both at 41 and I’m still in pain and very fatigued. I’ve been on these meds since May 2024.

?PMR onset Rheumatoid Arthritis
I had all the usual symptoms of PMR, but plus
synovitis
in fingers, hands and wrists which occurred at the same time as the PMR symptoms. My inflammatory markers have gone done from a high of CRP 118 to 10.

cytoplasmic speckled ANA - mean anything to anyone ? Also effect of coming off steroids
I have common SLE symptoms - fatigue, joint pain,
synovitis
, rash on leg but trying to work out if these bloods mean more likely I do have SLE or not.

A very caring and thorough specialist nurse agreed that
synovitis
in my joints points to RA.

RA flare.
It showed bone erosion,
synovitis
, and fluid. Gave me a steroid infiltration into knee, and an injection of steroids for overall inflammation. Thankfully this morning I feel so much better. The pain is much better. Feels like a miracle. Also have to start steroid tablets and taper over 3 weeks.

trochlear dysplasia, patellofemeral degeneration, large joint effusion, synovitis, medial meniscus injury, popliteal cysts
Have been suffering with knee problems since the end of January. GP insists they are due to falling over last September, but results of an MRI requested by an orthopaedic consultant, show all of the above. They say it’s due to rheumatoid arthritis/disease. They have said that I now need to see my rheumatologist

I haven't posted for a while....
I'm not too good at the moment, lots going on that I won't bore you with, a quick summary: After paying for MRIs which showed florid
synovitis
, bone erosions and more I was switched to Adalimumab...I've only had 2 injections, but so far no response...rather I've had to increase my daily oral prednisolone

tapering too rapidly after synovitis?
I have now had PMR for about 3 1/2 years; several months ago my hands became very painful, and I was diagnosed eventually with acute
synovitis
. I was told that if I did not go onto high doses of Pred. I might lose the use of my hands, so I agreed.

Psoriatic arthritis
Normal xray and no
synovitis
on ultrasound - although they only scanned wrist and MCP's, not the PIP joints that actually swell and cause the most pain/stiffness. Other than weak ANA and occasional low WBC, nothing has shown. Could this actually be PSA or is utterly something totally different?

Accept nothing question everything...with the proviso that you are well informed
Not only do I have 'florid'
synovitis
in my hands, I have widespread enhanced bone erosions in both hands and feet. I also have bone marrow oedema in both hands and feet. With tenosynovitis that I complain regularly about.

Can I pick some brains please.
Had an appointment with Rheumatology wasn't great, anti body screens negative, there are signs of arthritis, but reading stuff I thought she might say RA, she said No, she said she was surprised that there is synovial thickening and active
synovitis
which is usually found it RA but kept saying it

Is this overkill?
I have been told that the
synovitis
in my hands is so bad that I run the risk of the joints being permanently damaged if I do not keep up the medication. However - the rest of my body is fine, and has been for some time. (I started taking Pred.in August 2020).

Wrist pain and MRI
Organised a private mri scan, with the following results Large effusion with
synovitis
is seen in the wrist joint and the carpal joints. The synovial hypertrophy is quite prominent in the inferior radio ulnar joint and piso-triquetral joint .

Rheumatology second opinion appointment
He said there was no sign of
synovitis
/tenosynovitis or inflammation. I think he did power Doppler ultrasound to show blood flow (and therefore inflammation?)

Rheumatologist appointment help
He pulled up my one set of blood results and said and I quote 'that is 100%, not PMR' He arranged a full set of blood to be taken and an appointment to ultrasound my hands, the ultrasounds showed classic Ra, including
synovitis
. ? My inflammation markers were at 279.

why is my hip pain so severe?
I wonder if it is bursitis or
synovitis
. I have been having some pain in the right temple but this is relatively mild and infrequent. I have been diagnosed with both GCA and PMR. I emailed the rheumy yesterday but have not heard back.

Wrong diagnosis
Anyway, I have RA, and RA
synovitis
and I also have medically induced type two diabetes because of the pred which should not have been given to me in such large doses without any monitoring at all.

How much should I pester?
When I was told of the
synovitis
, I was given the option of which DMARD to go for, the way it was explained (I think I wrote about this before) I chose Hydroxy because it was the mildest, and my
synovitis
appears to be mild.
