Steroid tapering
I was diagnosed with PMR January 2023 my initial response to
steroids
was like a miricle...My journey has been very rocky with trying to reduce
steroids
and 7 mg seems to be my sticking point.

Allergy to heparin
The nurse herself got a shock , however the nurses were absolutely brilliant and acted really quickly giving me
steroids
and antihistamines. The reaction passed after about ten minutes. The nurses said they had never seen a reaction to heparin before.

Then last year I was continuously ill, I had shingles followed by a really bad chest and cough which I was told was a lung infection then a different GP decided it was pneumonia and I was given
steroids
which I ended up taking for 8 weeks until my cough cleared.

Currently popping
steroids
daily to reduce swelling, and I must say the energy I get is on another level. Probs why I’m not feeling depressed or teary. I’ve been referred to a hospital in London for treatment because I think it’s specialist equipment 🤷🏻♀️.

Felt like Giving Up - Update
After a complaint to PALS I had a call from my Consultant and was prescribed some oral
steroids
which have helped but I need to increase the dose for a short while as not doing quite enough, still not able to drive etc.

Travel
Morning all, hope you can help me , I'm travelling to Kenya in November I've just seen on the government website that if your taking
steroids
ie prednisolone you maynot be able to have the yellow fever vaccination. Is this correct has anyone travelled to Kenya with this issue.

GCA Concerns, Cold and Eyes
Still having the double vision which they are attributing to the
steroids
, not the GCA. Started at 60 mg. when diagnosed in October, after reducing I am now down to 25 mg. Do you think the eye aching could just be triggered by congestion or should I be worried?

adalimubab
I have also been on varying doses of
steroids
both injection and oral for most of the year. Currently on 7.5mg daily. I feel the Adalimubab is having very little effect and every time steroid is weaned done the flare starts.

Feature on Temporal Arteritis in 'Woman's Weekly' magazine.
It covered pretty much all the key points from signs & symptoms to all the various treatments, beginning with
steroids
but also mentioning other immuno-suppressant drugs and biologics.

Is it tapering or adrenals?
I'm a bit better now I've rested all day.Do you think I just need to up my
steroids
for a couple of days(I've been on 4.5mg Prednisolone for 2 weeks now after a very slow taper? I have LVV and PMR and I also take 20mg Methotrexate weekly.)

Sleep aids
Realise there are likely to be a number of replies through various posts, but be good to hear what works for people on this thread if possible. ..on another note are
steroids
likely to spike tinnitus?

Update on inflammation/injections
The injections were in the soft tissue between the vertebrae, and were a mix of
steroids
and something else that I can't remember.

Re-occurring Alcoholic Hepatitis
My partner has had 3 in past 2.5 years, each time going yellow and requiring a prescription of
steroids
with a weeks stay in hospital. Unfortunately he will not give up the drink (a decision he has made despite our pleas and commitment to try and get him to see sense).

How can I lower my thyroid antibodies
I have had one successful pregnancy but was on

and a small dose of Levothyroxine. Does anyone know if there are any ways to lower my antibodies without
steroids
again? Thanks for advice anyone has to share!

Falls
I know that is a side effect of the steroid and can't expect it to last past the
steroids
being in my system, but it feels wonderful to have just the tiniest bit more energy! Today when I get home from my infusion, I'm hoping to do some yoga on the MSAA site. Start slowly becoming more active!😀
