Flecainide or statins?
I have been on flecainide 50 mg twice a day since my ablation in August and I also take Simvastatin, Bisopropol , levothyroxine and apixaban. For a few weeks now I have been having aching and painful joints- especially my fingers and hips, and numbness and tingling in my arm and leg- had blood tests

Endocrinologist visit
My question is on the recommendation that I need to go on a lipid lowering treatment ( I assume
statins
?) should I ? Upon reading it says ta hereditary unless it skips generations this isn’t the case.

High pressure
So having ambushed me with this data, my doctor took my blood pressure and it was scarily high and he prescribed a calcium channel blocker and
statins
. Having researched
statins
, I decided they are not for me (my cholesterol is not high).

Statins
Hi, my GP said it is very important for me to take
statins
. I have tried 3 different brands of
statins
and with all I get pain in my thighs when walking. My pace has slowed down gradually since having AF. I miss going on a brisk walk. I don’t know if this is AF related or from taking
statins
.

My Introduction - elevated psa, unconfirmed prostate cancer
Apparently prostate cancer doesn't feed directly off glucose, rather it feeds off lipids and is why
statins
have been shown to be effective. My total cholesterol is low but my HDL is very high, around 60. My non-HDL cholesterols are very low.

Zometa / Celebrex and Lipitor
No phase 3 clinical trial yet, but Since many of us are already on
statins
anyway , and there had been a trial showing the benefit of zometa and Celebrex (for metastatic men) there could be an added benefit of using zometa/Celebrex combo because you’re using the Celebrex with a statin.

New heart treatment is biggest breakthrough since statins, scientists say

Statins
are the mainstay drugs for heart attack prevention and work primarily by lowering cholesterol levels. But a quarter of people who have one heart attack will suffer another within five years despite taking
statins
regularly.

Statin withdrawal
I have had to stop
statins
which I have taken for about 10 years now because of severe leg cramping during the night. The withdrawal symptoms are painful but not excruciating pain like cramping. I have added Collagen supplements very recently and have ordered some CoQ10 for help.

Unblocking Mild Atherosclerosis with Meds
I was prescribed Isosorbide Mononitrate for my Angina issues but nothing new for dissipating the Atheroma, so I'm guessing he is relying on my
Statins
to do that.

To statin, or not to statin...creatine kinase and lp/a levels normal
So, my question is does anyone think I would be silly to reject the doctor's advice and refuse
statins
, or should I just do as I'm told and risk potential side effects? Thank you in advance

"Is antidyslipidemic statin use for cancer prevention a promising drug repositioning approach?"
It is becoming increasingly clear that
statins
(currently used for treating dyslipidemia) can be effective in the prevention of coronary disease, heart failure, and arrhythmia.

Coronary artery spasm?
and my cardiologist has basically said I would be stupid to come of
statins
or I would be back in hospital within a year...hence my lipid test being ordered to see my cholesterol score...Will update you all on that soon.

Taking Folic Acid and Vitamin D3 with Oatmeal ?
I do this because I have high cholesterol and GP put me on
statins
but I don’t take
statins
because adjusting my diet and especially having Oatmeal works very well and lowers the cholesterol so I never take
statins
.

Reference ranges for blood levels versus symptoms
I was prescribed
Statins
without having seen the G.P and without a current TSH. Apparently
Statins
are not well tolerated with Hypothyroidism and due to multiple allergies I declined them. I have been given oral iron as the ferritin was 22.
