Concern over liver function test
I was discharged with
statins
and other medication pending an MRI. I'm still waiting for the MRI and my consultant appointment is not until mid-April.

? Thank you for reading My recent results are: TSH 0.62 T4 total 139 ( 66 -181) Free T4 19.03 (12 - 22) Free T3 4.51 (3.1 - 6.8)

Diet recommendations welcome
hi, I have the below and was if anyone has a cholesterol reducing diet, my
statins
were doubled but not increasing further at the moment so diet and exercise? Left mainstem – unobstructed. LAD – moderate to severe mid-plaque traversing a mid Diagonal. Circumflex – mild plaque.

Statin use, survival and incidence of thrombosis among older patients with polycythemia vera and essential thrombocythemia
Conclusions These findings suggest that it may be important to incorporate
statins
into the therapeutic strategy for older adults with PV and ET. https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/cam4.6528

Can an excess of carbimazole (hyperthyroid medidaction) cause high triglycerides? How long does it take to normalise levels?
Somehow the carbimazole has given me hypothyroidism, so I would not like to start taking
statins
until the carbimazole dose is adjusted.

Are most RA patients on
statins
? The rheumatologist has never mentioned them. My GP surgery recently asked me to attend an RA health check . A surprise as they never have done before. He did bloods for cholesterol, diabetes and something else which I can’t remember . Blood pressure, weight etc.

Atorvastatin
Initially I took it at night as I’ve read that our bodies make cholesterol at night so taking
statins
at night makes them more effective. I’m pretty sure it gave me disturbing dreams so I’ve changed it to break time! My cholesterol has dropped to 4 now which is great.

Exercise with mitral regurgitation
The medication is
statins
, blood pressure pills and aspirin. I have had a healthy diet since my first stroke. My question is exercise. I usually run 4-5 Miles three times a week ( a Papworth consultant put in my notes I ran 45 miles three times a week) .

statins & underactive thyroid
The nurse asked how I felt about going on
statins
although she said I am low risk due to my lifestyle & diet. I’m not keen on going on
statins
because I heard that they are not good to take if you have an underactive thyroid.

Hello everyone.....
As of last Friday, my doctor has put me on
statins
to reduce my cholesterol level and also a daily low dose of Asprin. He said this was for prevention of HA and stroke, as I've never had one. I had Mild Diffuse Coronary artery disease diagnosed when I was 28, and it showed mild atherosclerosis.
