Sporanox

I have been using Sporanox (branded itraconazole) but consultant wants me to change to posaconazole as he says it's more effective and has fewer side effects (I didn't have any side effects with Sporanox that I'm aware of). Any feedback would be welcome, thanks.

Prescribed 400mg a day sporanox (itraconazole). Common side effects look gruesome... has anyone had any experience with this drug? I feel so knocked back to have another thing to deal with....I am sorry to complain... I do know that many of you endure so much more.

He was on them last year for the standard 4 months. He found that they made him feel so well that he spoke to the consultant about going back on them. After speaking to specialists it was decided that as long as trough aspergillis tests and lft's ok he could stay on them. He has been back on them since

I am worried these could be to do with the Sporanox but can't find anything like this for side effects.

They said I would be given Sporanox which comes as either a liquid or a pink and blue capsule. It states specifically that this is what I would be given at the centre. It goes on to say that there is another make "Sandoz" which are green capsules.

never treated..been upto docs got nystatin..it wont help..had sporanax..didnt help..breathings bad and cant eat sweats galore then very cold..all bad..just phoned doc their and bluntly told him i have candida overgrowth and should be in hospital..its did unbelievable things to me...hes giving me more sporanox

I have had aspergillus for several years, firstly treated with sporanox then v-fend. However the last year I am feeling so low with terrible fatigue. My consultant is admitting me to try me on posaconazole.

From the research I have done, the suggested treatment calls for the use of an anti-fungal (Sporanox) and a steroid. Which steroid do you recommend and how long should it be taken? My coughing is extremely bad when I laydown to sleep.
