Hi I’m due a 2nd cv next month but have had bisoprosol replaced with Sotalol is anyone else on this one I’ve read the side effects are pretty awful ???

I took it many years ago and didn’t get on well with it.
I am pretty sure Bob has said before that it is no longer popular as an AF treatment in the UK.
Both Bisoprolol and Sotalol are rate control drugs and because they are Betablockers can sometimes give patients side effects of lethargy.
If you have AF then a significant number of sufferers take rhythm control drugs either with Bisoprolol or as in my case alone.

Sotalol may be a beta blocker but it has both rate and rhythm control elements. As Pete says is not recommended by Nice here in UK for AF. Some EPs do still use it from time to time but it is not main stream.
