Prazosin revisited
The sheer beauty of the retrospective study posted recently by Scout4answers is the vast superiority in Recurrence Free Survival for Prazosin users over a ten-year period not only against controls but against a similar drug, Tamsulosin. IMHO this means that selection bias is much less likely. Prazosin

Returning to Gabapentin
After having an appointment with my GP I am about to go back to taking Gabapentin after suffering many side effects on Pregabalin. I switched to Pregabalin as the dose of Gabapentin (1200) I was taking had stopped working and rather than upping the dose, Pregabalin was easier to use as it didn’t need

I was doing very well with Flecainide to control my ectopics. About three weeks ago they started to get worse, until now the Flecainide ( 100 mgs twice a day ) doesn’t seem to help at all. The only change to my normal regime that I can think of is that I’ve started taking Tamsulosin for a prostate problem

Prazosin - Trial of One (Me)
To my surprise my urologist readily prescribed Prazosin to replace Tamsulosin, after reading the retrospective study that Bruce SF supplied me with and I forwarded to my Doc with my request to change drugs. As a trader I always look at risk and reward, this one seems to be a no-brainer, very little

Over active bladder!
Has anyone ever been prescribed Solifenacin? I have an over active bladder and it’s getting worse, I get up 3-4 times a night to wee and I go at least every hour during the day. This medication is supposed to increase the time in between needing to wee… I’m praying that it works 🙏🏼

DHEA and Pregnenolone
A recent visit to a MD in general practice who was interested in administering injections of Testosterone decided to wait and prescribed DHEA and Pregnenolone and MSM instead. His blood test did show these to be low. Also, in this blood test it showed the hormon estrogen to be low. I am not sure I want

Hyaluronic acid treatment for damaged bladder
Hi guys finally getting some answers of what has been going on with my bladder. (Bleeding from it) Had a cystoscopy yesterday, after the usual embarrassing bits, I found it quite fascinating to see inside my bladder on the screen. She never gave me a diagnosis but looking at my past history it is probably

Has anyone found anything that really helps with OAB? I've tried Oxibutimin and solifenacin, solifenacin helps a bit in the day but I'm up to the loo about 6 or 7 times (sometimes more!!) in the night and I'm quite exhausted. I would love to hear of something that really works ....desperate and at

Unwanted side effects
A lot is posted on here about different meds and side effects, I don't think I've ever started a new med without having at least a head ache for a few days, but mostly, that's it. What causes muscle spasms and twitching after meals?
Hi, my hubby has been going through a rough patch since before Christmas after a long period of doing very well. He was taking 3 madopar 62.5 per day. He had been sleeping well with 5mg melatonin but then stopped being able to sleep and became increasingly anxious dreading night, and had to pee 3-4

Growth inhibitory effect of doxazosin on prostate and bladder cancer cells. Is the serotonin receptor pathway involved?
Doxazosin
, an alpha1-adrenoceptor antagonist, is used for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and hypertension. Alpha-adrenoceptor antagonists also inhibit growth and induce apoptosis in malignant prostatic cells. The apoptotic activity is independent of their capacity to antagonize

Catheter Removed
Hello my fellow brothers and caregivers. I had my Foley remove 2 days ago and man what a relief. The biggest relief was I am able to urinate on my own with a good flow and it's clear. I went to see two other Urologists yesterday and both confirmed that due to my Pca, TURP would be the best treatment

Btw is anyone taking tamsulosin and how do you find it? “1. Introduction Nowadays, it is well

Prostate
I have had enlarged prostate for may years without any issues. Take Tamsulosin. Recently finding clothes damp, not wet with pungent smell, actually makes my eyes smart. I'm guessing seepage. Whats the right direction from here?

My MSK Precise / SBRT Journey -- One month after the final treatment
I just wanted to check in here to give an update on my status one month after my final SBRT treatment at MSK in NYC. Urinary: The only real change has been frequency. In addition, when the urge hits, I must make my way to the bathroom pretty quickly. Other than that, it's basically the same as it was
