More or less T4 with T3?
These are some bloods from a test a week ago. This is on 75 mcg of T4 & 30 mcg of T3. It looks to me like I'm converting the T4 into T3 pretty well. Feel good except for an occasional cold and a stiff neck that cracks like a knee popping sometimes. My endo doesn't want to prescribe any higher T4 without

Advice on confusing results
I would really appreciate one of you lovely forumites giving me feed back on these blood results please? After waiting 4.5 weeks to see a GP and going armed with an ammo of facts and figures all gleaned from previous posts, advice, suggested links and personal research I was bowled over to finally find

It's OK to put sugar in your iced tea
This is from one of the largest food diary panels - using 101,257 people in the French NutriNet-Santé cohort with 5 years of follow-up so far. While there was an association for some cancers, there was no significant association between amount of sugary drink intake and incidence of prostate

Cinnamon brings new hope for Parkinson’s Disease
"According to many studies cinnamon helps prevent cellular damage to the area of the brain that causes Parkinson’s." My friend has been using cinnamon and I'd begun to believe that his success was due to properties of Sodium benzoate and how they acted in the gut. I thought that the antibacterial activities

Docetaxel treatment update
I thought it would be interesting to share results from my first 5 sessions of chemo and maybe get some thoughts. Cycle 1, 2, 4 and 5 have been mainly low impact from side effects, fatigue is always tough through days 3-7 but after a week the energy comes back. I've hopefully mitigated any neuropathy

Movicol
Movicol contains sodium bicarbonate whereas laxido contains sodium carbonate which is more caustic and less effective. Movicol I'd more expensive and therefore GP's are less likely to prescribe it. Movicol is not so harsh and does not cause so much pain and bloating! I have used both - stick out for

My 19 year old son was just diagnosed with primary Addisons disease. The only symptoms he has are looking tanned and lost 10 pounds. His Am cortisol levels were very low. His Acth leves very high and very high antibodies. Otherwise he is feeling fine. (Possibly slightly fatigued, but nothing terrible

Need your opinion on today's bloodwork.
Okay, So as mentioned before, I am aggressively loosing weight to deal with my liver disease. I have been on an all liquid diet for a month an half and on average I have been losing 7lbs a week since. Since my Fibroscan test in April, (where I was around 350lbs), I am not around 258lbs. I am slated

How do you manage low phosphorus diet?
For sodium, protein and potassium, those are easier to see from food nutrition info labels. How many of you are on a low-phosphorus diet? Do you comply to it regularly? How do you go about ensuring you are not consuming too much phosphorus? My doc hasn't prescribed phosphorus binders yet (my P levels

Good morning, I enjoy reading and learning from everyone on this board! My dad (76) has been on this journey with stage 4 metastasized prostate cancer for a little over a year now. He has exhausted the majority of treatments. He has castration-resistant prostate cancer with progression despite abiraterone

Balance PH for CKD
I just read a study That was done in London that talks about keeping the PH balance in CKD. It was also published in some American journals. Talks about patients with acidic PH being so much worse than those with balanced PH. It is already well known that PH balance is so important for health but this

Starting Radium 223 (Xofigo) next week
Having just finished a trial of carboplatin + docetaxel, I'll be starting Xofigo next week as a bridge to a pembro+ trial early next year. My latest PSA is 940, with no visible soft tissue involvement. I have a single-strand CDK12 defect. Hoping that the suggestion of this paper is true for me: Efficacy

Losartan and cough
My meds were changed from Candesartan to Losartan a couple of months ago after 3 years because of BP issues/low sodium. Since then I seem to have a constant throat rattle and wheeze and have to cough to clear it. Has anyone else had this on Losartan?

Not being able to tolerate steroids without very debilitating side effects, I'm still looking for something to add to the Uniphyllin 400 & Ventolin (plus just one small dose of Seretide 50). Extremely bloated and constipated!!
In regards to the constipation, he said that I shouldn't be waiting too long and if I wasn't going to the toilet after 3 days that I should take
Sodium
picosulfate
(which he prescribed).
