Tapioca in gluten free products/reduces iodine absorption?
Hi I’ve just discovered, in a roundabout way, that tapioca can affect iodine absorption,so not advised for those with thyroid issues. I don’t know scientifically about this, just thought I’d mention on here. I have a type 1 latex allergy, have been on a gluten free diet to improve thyroid, but noticed

Raising Low Sodium Levels
Hi beautiful people! I have this ongoing issue with low sodium levels. It's been below the reference range by 1-2 points over the last 4 weeks in 2 tests (136 and now 135 with the ref range starting from 137) Prior to that, I was just within the range, one point above the norm. Prior to that, it

Morning all 😉 I have Hashimoto’s and have had radio active iodine treatment over 16 years ago so have been on Levothyroxine since. I’m familiar with all the testing and get regularly tested by my GP. I also private test occasionally to check my T3 as my local area do not test that on the NHS. I

ERFA with added iodine
Hiya.I have recently sourced a batch of ERFA via a private pharmacy, but after reading the fine print on the bottle, I have noticed it also contains 0.2 % of iodine. I thought this would be counterproductive, as iodine supplementation is not recommended with hypothyroidism? I am now concerned about

Low Estradiol and low Iron - is it Thyroid?
Hi all, I have been on 2.375 grains of Armour and 2.5 T3 since May and my results are: Ft4 33% Ft3 75% 24 hours after meds since Armour is slower release. I don't tolerate Armour in its own, tried everything from 3 to 2.25 grains. Iron 49 (50-180) Estradiol 12 (21-280) checked 4th day of cycle FSH

A new approach for treatment of subthreshold bipolar disorders: Targeted high dose levothyroxine+repetitive TMS for mitochondrial treatment
A very interesting paper. Difficult to grab any individual bits for discussion or introduction. The whole paper isn't very long. Even if bipolar disorders are not themselves of much direct interest, it might be worth a quick read because it discusses the control group as well and their ability to tolerate

GP Issues Again With Levo Dose Reduction
I am writing once again with regard to my mothers Thyroid situation. This has been going on for many years 🙄 My mother GP/GPs have been slowly reducing her Levo dose for years, saying she is over medicated. They are as usual focusing on her TSH bloods thinking because her TSH is below zero she’s over

Valproate: new safety and educational materials to support regulatory measures in men and women under 55 years of age
I don't think there is any reason to expect many members to be taking any form of Valproate, but this is such an important issue, with such significant consequences, I've decided to post it anyway. Even if you are not taking it, someone you know might be. [i]

So since last writing my previous post my Son has been experiencing “cluster seizures” - whereby he goes into a trance like state, talks gibberish and he can’t remember events and has no memory of what has happened. He has had approximately 3 or 4 of these “events” between May and December. The December

Under active Thyroid gland and FND
My son recently got his blood results and it was noted his Thyroid levels weren't in range and a re-test due in 3 mths, my mother had it too, so will be interesting to see my results in a few weeks time.I was however surprised to see how many of the symptoms he has/is experiencing, associated with FND
