After 2 Nuclear Ligand treatments should I still have severe bone pain in my lower back?
My SO was diagnosed last year with stage 4 Prostate cancer. Although his PSA never went extremely high (8.0) his Gleason scores were two 8's and a 9. The cancer when diagnosed consumed his complete prostate and was found in the vertebras of his neck, shoulder and shoulder socket plus his pelvis and

Hi everyone, I’ve always been <.008. This time same lab I am .012. RP 2015, Gleason 7, not sure which primary number, no surgical margins, cancer in 2 quadrants, no lymph node invasion. I always go to the same lab here in Canada, LifeLabs. Have Uro appointment on Thursday. Any thoughts on what I might

What happens when CT scan and ultrasound can't verify if it's an ovarian mass or not?
I (post-menopausal 52 y/o) went in to urgent care about a month ago with stomach pains. Doctor thought it was a ruptured appendix, but sent me for a CT scan to verify. Turns out it was diverticulitis, but on the CT scan they noticed a a complex cyst on my left ovary, however they couldn't be sure if

It wont be long
Hi All I have seen my Consultant today and she said it is time to start thinking about treatment. Not what I wanted to hear but after 14 years W&W I guessed it would come one day. She will arrange a CT Scan to check on Tumour burden (I think thats right) then just waiting on this. TP53 - deletion

Right phrenic nerve paralysis
Path from RP showed extensive perineural involvement. No other risk factors for phrenic nerve paralysis. Haven't talked to MO yet, but sure concerned it's tumor invasion. PSA still <0.04.

Total thyroidectomy - anyone have a positive story ?
Hey everyone - I’m very nervous about having a total thyroidectomy in mid February. I have seen so many horror stories. Do any of you have an experience that didn’t turn sour ? Some have said they have levithyroxine issues … I’m not sure if this is the right decision but my heart rhythm is being seriously

Prostate cancer treatment and sexual mutilation
Well well. In the midst of the club no one wants to be a part of and just wanted to add my input. It seems that the treatment of prostate cancer often glazes over the fact that you will be sexually impacted severely. Depending on treatment outcome that could be a 0 to 7. Seems like the topic isn’t really

Hi- I have posted before concerning my brother’s prostate treatment. To give a brief overview- my brother was diagnosed in March 2021. He responded well to Abiraterone for 18 months. Once his PSA starting trending upwards he was put on several sessions of Docetaxel. Unfortunately at this time, he

My MO suspects that I am non-metastatic, castration resistant but will not approve any treatment until metastases develop.
Gleason 9 at diagnosis, BRACA 2 germline and somatic. RP five years ago but cancer escaped the capsule; PSA of around 2.5 after surgery. Had radiation to pelvic area a few months later along with Eligard injection. Renewed Eligard after 3 months and PSA went down to undetectable. T was close to zero

salvage radiation after surgery?
Hi - Shouldn’t I be doing salvage radiation or chemotherapy now? I had my surgery February 25 and Doctor wants to wait for first PSA iat end of May. However surgical pathology showed negative margins but showed intraductal, cribriform, loss of PTEN. and PNI. Even though there was no EPE, no SVI, No LVI

Why don’t doctors read notes properly before calling patients?
I have been on immunotherapy for 15 mths to treat 4 HCC tumours . In December 2023 my scan showed some ‘pseudo growth’ and I was given a further 3 mths treatment. Last Monday I was anxiously awaiting my results for the latest scan. The oncologist phoned and reported “no spread but some shadows a little

Starting Chemo again, Cabazitaxel Has anybody experienced any side effects that have been unusually bad?
After having been NED for the past six years I now have to go back on Chemo treatments. The first round of Chemo was with Taxotere and now My Cancer has become castrate resistant. PSA is now no longer a good indicator for disease progression. I'm not looking forward to doing this but it's what has to
