My husband is suffering from stiffness in the mornings and in the middle of the night. Is this what others have happen to them?
We talked to the doctor, his neurologist, about it and he told him to take two
Sinemet
when he wakes in the middle of the night to go to the restroom and then again in the morning before he gets out of bed. It really doesn't help. Are any others having this problem and what helps?

Change of medication.
I mentioned sometime ago I would let you all know after my husband was tried on
Sinemet
. Well it made no difference to his symptoms and hence it has now been discontinued. However, the next medication trial, was for him to have hyoscine patches to reduce his drooling.

I take 1 mg. Azilect one time a day. I also take sinemet three times a day. My tremors have increased again, also mental "fuzziness".
My neuro suggested I increase the Azilect to 1.5 mgs daily and also increase the
sinemet
. I am thinking try one increase at a time. Has anyone who takes Azilect successfully increased it to 1.5 mg?

Neck & midline "tremors" developed after DBS for Parkinson's disease.
Sinemet
also helps. But it can occur at anytime almost randomly, such as when driving. Has anyone else experienced something like this and do you have any suggestions of other treatment or prevention options.

Carbidopa/Levadopa (Sinemet) and augmentation. One thing that can cause this med not to work as well as it should for some people.
These days
Sinemet
is considered an "old fashioned" treatment for chronic sever RLS. Dr. Buchfuhrer says that he rarely uses it now, because of the fact that it can stop working so fast and should only be used for intermittent RLS, not chronic , daily RLS.

Do high-oxalate foods such as beets, spinach, lentils, beans, etc. worsen your PD symptoms? Has anyone tried a low-oxalate diet?
I've had a few days where my PD symptoms were particularly annoying and the
Sinemet
was not as effective. On these occasions I ate a large amount of spinach or lentils (very high oxalate foods) the night before. I was wondering if there was a link.

Does anyone have any imput/comment on this? As everyone says, diagnosis doesn't change anything, but it helps to structure the future.
The
sinemet
, ropinerole, and entacapone still seem to alleviate the symptoms they are meant for, but of course have no effect on the bradykinesia and its ultimate falls.

Foot and thumb cramp etc.
Hi I met a neurologist about a year ago who put me on
Sinemet
then wanted to increase the strength. He mentioned dopa reponsive dystonia. I didn't like the idea of the increase and asked for another opinion. (Still waiting and will see the new neurogist in a month).
