I take 1 mg. Azilect one time a day. I also take sinemet three times a day. My tremors have increased again, also mental "fuzziness".

My neuro suggested I increase the Azilect to 1.5 mgs daily and also increase the sinemet. I am thinking try one increase at a time. Has anyone who takes Azilect successfully increased it to 1.5 mg? When I initially started taking it 4 years ago, it helped to clear my mind and reduced tremors dramatically.

I asked my neurologist if I could increase Azilect. She said that 1 mg is the maximum dose; taking any more than that would not have any more effect than 1 mg.

In reading the product information, 1 mg is the recommended dosage, I have not increased it, but tremors have returned on a regular basis. He also recommended that I increase the sinemet, but it seemed when I did the wearing off was more noticeable.

I'm not at all medic ally qualified but it is my understanding that there is no additional benefit in raising Azilect to above1 mg per day. I would do a bit of googling f I were you.

Last week went to hear my Neuro speak on Azilect and other PD drugs. There were two Azilect reps there. Originally TEVA (the mfg. of Azilect) tried different dosages: ie .5 - 1.0 - 2.0 mg. They found a decline of benefits with the 2.0 mg.

Thanks for the information, he wanted me to increase to 1.5 mg.

My neuro suggested that after taking Azilect for 8 years it was probably no longer having any effect. However I have been reading reports on research into Azilect helping with apathy in Parkinson's Disease. I also wanted to stop taking it because I take an antidepressant that doesn't match with rasagilene. Quite frankly once I stopped I couldn't tell any difference. I am taking Mirapex and Stavelo also.

I do take a multi that is pretty good, has D3 and b vitamins, also take K+ in addition. I probably should take magnesium, it was low when I was in the hospital last fall.

I TAKE AZILECT 1mg and don't know how i would be without it. i think it is supposed to be the only drug that works on the pd and not just symptoms of pd.

for my tremor i have just begun using eye focus and concentration on eye spot focus and it helps..i don't know if this is placebo effect but like meditation i think practice will improve result.
