I Googled your meds & the following are cut & pasted from their sites:

Applies to:Xanax (alprazolam) and Norco (acetaminophen/hydrocodone)!!!!!!

Using ALPRAZolam together with HYDROcodone may increase side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. Some people may also experience some impairment in thinking and judgment. You should avoid or limit the use of alcohol while being treated with these medications. Avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how the medications affect you. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Zyrtec & Norco!!!!!

Zyrtec may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be alert. Drinking alcohol can increase certain side effects of Zyrtec. Tell your doctor if you regularly use other medicines that make you sleepy (such as other cold or allergy medicine, narcotic pain medicine, sleeping pills, muscle relaxers, and medicine for seizures, depression, or anxiety). They can add to sleepiness caused by Zyrtec. Call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve, if they get worse, or if you also have a fever.

You should Ask your pharmacist also there's a website. I went off Xanax because it made me depressed and did not relieve pain

Your pharmacist is the one to ask. I hope you are getting all your meds at one pharmacy where they will be checking everything you get at med refills. Instead of xanax you might ask your doctor about valium. I find it easier to manage than xanax and less sedating after the first few days. Good luck.

my husband is on citalopray, 10mg (a low dose) and he's doing well: more cheerful, upbeat, greater 'executive functioning' (able to plan and implement tasks he sets for himself). It seems that not only was his dopamine low (now addressed by carbadopa/levidopa) but also the neuro-chemical serotonin. His neurologist prescribed it and follows him. She said he can go up if need be but so far (5 months) it's working. I even hear him singing to himself, something I thought was long gone.

I am astounded that anyone takes so many medications every day! I would not be surprised if some of the meds you take are to counteract the side effects of the other meds. Why take meds at all, when none of them has any affect on the progression of Pd? All any of them can do is hide one or two of the symptoms for a short while. Unfortunately, you have to take more and more of these meds, in order to get the required effect. Soon you will not be able to get any benefit from them and where do you go from there? Rather start off taking no meds at all, but do some serious exercise, but I know I am almost a lone voice in the wilderness on this score.

I dont believe you are a lone voice regarding exercise. Stopping meds is a different matter :). I have a problem in that you say you are the only person who has reversed PD with your method. Something doesn't seem right if that is the case.

I see PD like diabetes, a lack that the body cant fix and in the end we have to take medication to function just as a diabetic takes insulin. By taking insulin a diabetic is not stopping the progression of their disease and over time they usually have to increase their medication. Is it any different for us?

Hi Hikoi. It took me ten years, after diagnosis to reach the stage, where I no longer needed to take any medication for Pd. Do you know of anyone else who has been able to do this? Diabetes is a different kettle of fish altogether. Only over the past couple of years have people been specifically about fast walking to combat Pd. It will take many more years before they will get to where I am now, but it is worth it.

Kind regards

John
