Tip for PwP taking Sinemet...put pills in jello and swallow whole. Pill seems to go right where it needs to - less SE- more on time! Especially useful for those having trouble swallowing.

Please can you say what other name may be used for Jello? and what is SE?

SE - side effects

Jello - brand name of a sweet gelatin dessert common in U.S. - any gelatin dessert should work though. Take care.

I'm not how much protein it takes to interfere with L Dopa uptake, I am sure it varies wildly and widely. Just be aware that gelatin is a protein. This sounds like a brilliant idea if you are not affected by protein. My husband always complains that Sinemet is so hard to swallow.

why can't you take powdered tablet in lime water, which is more effective

I have not tried that, I do know that when i powder the tab in plain water my mouth feels like it is on fire - I will try it with lime juice to see if it does the same - Thanks
