Hope you are all keeping well. I haven’t been on here for a while. To be honest I have been suffering with dreadful fatigue and struggle to do the simplest chores. The weakness in my arms and legs both sides has been a nightmare. I have lost a lot of mobility in my left hand and I now think it’s affecting

Tapering down Levodopa any advice ?
Hi I’m new here and London, UK based. I’m trying to wean off Sinemet (total dose per day 75/300) slowly and completely after taking it for 4 months (since diagnosis). I’ve had more intense non- motor symptoms (e.g. depression exhaustion) trying to come off than before I started the meds. I’m wondering

Could I be addicted to Sinemet?
Am I the only one who thinks they are addicted to Sinemet? 13 years since diagnosis, am I still clutching at straws?

Rytary vs sinemet
I switched from 25/100 sinemet four-five times to Rytary 36.25/145 three times a day. I am experiencing increased dyskinesia on Rytary. I was expecting it to decrease. Anyone else have this issue?

Titrating down on Sinemet experience
I wanted to post my experience titrating down in case it helped someone else who was trying to do the same thing. I was originally prescribed 25/100 3 tablets per day (sinemet) 2 years ago. RH tremor was my only major symptom at that time. After 2 months of nausea, my body got used to the drug and

Tremors worse. Thoughts?
In December started Sinemet 25/100 X1 day , then increased 2X day. Then instructed to increase 3X day. I had a lot of difficulties sleeping so decreased down to 2X day. It has had positive effects on my symptoms except the tremors. Now I have attempted to increase up to 3X day beginning 4 days ago

Same diseases or not?
Several years ago I was dx'd with MS. I took tysabri, a monoclonal antibody treatment for two years. Then I was dx'd with PD and am still taking Rytary, a form of sinemet. My only symptom was olfactory hallucinations. This was smelling things that aren't real. I found that the false odors

Zandopa fast-taper safer than Sinemet?
Zandopa taper-easier than sinemet? A recent post discussed tapering sinemet and it’s risks. Anyone have any insight on tapering Zandopa as the primary treatment? Is it lower risk of withdrawal/NMS with quick taper? Thanks

PTT FUS in Switzerland - 1 year update
First of all, i would like to write this update after i have been rechecked by the doctors in Switzerland , which was supposed to be in the beginning of January, but due to COVID restrictions, i wasn’t unable to fly. I’m hoping to fly during March, but it’s always unexpected. After a year, i can say

Practical Suggestions for PWP
If you need to spend a night in the hospital have a go bag ready with several doses of your meds like sinemet, that are taken more often than am noon pm. most hospitals have a nursing rotation that does not coincide with med times as often as pwp need them. hospitals also typicallly have you surrender

IS EXTREME BODY HEAT PART OF HAVING CBD?
Thank you to all who responded to my question about muscle constriction! Now I have another question. Since the cbd diagnosis, my husband suffers from an intolerance to heat. It seems that he's always hot and I'm wondering if it's another side effect of cbd, or maybe it's from the sinemet?

How can you tell if you are taking too much sinemet vs too little. Did experience any of these new symptoms til I switched antidepressant.
Weaning off one antidepressant and onto another I experienced symptoms that felt like I needed a fix. Initially I had some relief when I took a dose of Sinemet. Neurologist suggested increasing dose (low) to 4x daily. After 3 weeks symptoms seem worse. Haven’t actually seen neurologist he made these

Body pain increases for few minutes every 3.5 hours
Any small pain in the body increases (sensation or feeling) with each downward crossover between ON time and OFF time. This increased pain sensation lasts for 30 minutes. or we may say at every wear off of generic sinemet that is every 3.5 to 4 hours. Mostly it is in the back. Relief after another person

Night time medication
My husband takes Madopar IR and mucuna during the day, approx 4 tabs of Madopar 100/25 and 1.5mg of mucuna, which gives him quite good on/off times. What doesn't work so well is the night, where he takes one Madopar CR at 10pm and then one Madopar IR at 3.30/4am, with some mucuna here and there. Any

What do I do now?
I got diagnosed at the end of October 2021. Once diagnosed I was offered a choice of sinemet or pramipexole. At the time I was stunned and confused at what to do. I hadn’t processed anything yet. I chose pramipexole cause I got the impression it was lesser of the two evils so to speak. Now that I have
