Hello Hidden Do you mean you now take 100/25mg x 2 four times a day? That may still be normal, depends... if I may ask, how long have you had PD for?

in reply to Grumpy77

I take 1 pill 4x a day. I was diagnosed in October 2018.

Hmm...well if that's what your neuro prescribed, they know best. park_bear is more technically savvy on this topic

Compare IR versus CR at the two hour mark:

You should get yourself evaluated for orthostatic hypotension and consider mitigation measures. Are you taking any other Parkinson's meds?

Not taking any other Pd meds. Thanks for your suggestions . I see my neurologist in a couple of weeks. This information helps.

My cardiologist added midodrine to counteract the orthostatic hypotension, which was disabling. It has made a huge difference, but it did take a while.

Miller,

I am 14+ years into PD with many discomforts, but the most debilitating for me is OH. I have taken numerous falls when standing up and walking too quickly from a seated position. My neuro suggested a while back & it has been very helpful to increase my liquids and the occasional pinch of salt. I also will do leg kicks usually 10 each leg so they are parallel to the ground from my seat. This helps get the blood moving that has p o o l e d in my ankles while sitting.

Going forward, be aware that some of our PD meds suggest low blood pressure as a side effect. I believe Sinemet and Dopamine Agonists are included here. Heart medications as well and be aware up the road if you start experimenting with supplements and vitamins as most of us do.

Good luck to you as you figure things out.

My husband's blood pressure varies greatly causing him to feel faint. Electrolyte drink helps, especially potassium.
