Off periods?
I can guess the answer is, "It depends..." But I'll ask anyway. After a dose of Sinemet the PD signs diminish but eventually return. That's the OFF period, as I understand it. How long does the Sinemet last? Why can't I take more Sinemet once the OFF period starts? Once I start Sinemet, how long

IF balance problem is from PD will Sinemet help?
Third sunday in a row I put on my 25# back pack and walked on the half-mile asphalt track surrounding the rec center. The first time I walked for three hours before having balance problems. The second time the balance problem started after two hours. Today the balance problem started after one hour

Does Sinemet cause anyone else intense yawning?
I have been having great success with Sinemet, Vitamin B1, and fast walking. I’m doing better now than I have for several years, and seem to have very minor side effects from PD meds. I do notice, however, that if I take my Sinemet dose on an empty stomach, I start yawning within about half an hour,

Feeling of unstable physical balance.
In the past 20 days I have been operated on for inguinal hernia and I have lost my dear father. From a psycho physical point of view, my condition was not affected at all in those bad days. I resisted very well. Now, a few days after those worries, something has changed: my balance is unstable, dizziness

Bradykinesia
Is this bradykinesia? Three years ago the neuros decided I had MS. After two years on tysabri infusions they said maybe it's PD. I never felt I had either condition. Six months ago I planned to run the local marathon; The Run With the Wild Horses in Sweetwater County, Wyoming. It's a difficult

Neupro review
I try again: who has used Neupro in the uncomplicated phase of PD and wants to share his/her experience? I could not tolerate Sinemet or Madopar, even with extra Carbidopa. I have built up Neupro till 8 mg now. It helps with anxiety, stiffness, but not much on my tremor.

Ways various PD treatments deplete essential chemicals.
https://www.dovepress.com/parkinsonrsquos-disease-managing-reversible-neurodegeneration-peer-reviewed-fulltext-article-NDT The above is an interesting read, including various pathways that are depleted with PD treatments. Also this was interesting: Should mucuna and 5-HTP be used instead of sinemet

Medications improving my cardio?
I take ropinirole and amantadine. I've had PD for nearly two years. I was on Sinemet but discontinued it because of severe tiredness. The neuro switched me to the two drugs mentioned above. I've mentioned the HIIT that I do on a treadmill. I've done it for over two years. In the past it was close

Dear Forum friends, First of all, thank you for all the responses to my previous post. Thank you for sharing your stories and for all the good advice. Nasty cold. Even nastier: Parkinson's symptoms through the roof.
I've had 3 URI's in the last 6 months (exposures to grandkids), and am horrified at how much more severe my motor and non-motor symptoms got during these episodes. Increased tremor, back/ leg muscle spasms, weakness, fatigue (understandable) occur; but even worse were crushing depression and negativity
