Phosphate
Hi Everyone, I have hypocalcemia and PTH insufficiency know as hypoparathyroidism but still a working diagnosis. When I have my bone profile done by blood test my phosphate does not elevate high like they usually do when you have low calcium. It just sits around middle normal range and sometimes low

Article : 'NHS doctors brushed off our condition as menopause – what we suffer from is far worse'
Article from the Mirror about women struggling to get a diagnosis of what turned out to be hyperparathyroidism. It takes many years. https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/health/nhs-doctors-brushed-condition-menopause-33179607 Not the best medical/health-related article I've ever read, but isn't very long.

Dry eyes and mouth
Is sea buckthorn oil capsules good for sjogrens syndrome? I had this diagnosis yrs ago and I know there is a correlation between sjogrens and hashimotos which I also have. Tried lots of eye lubricants (Prescriotion and OTC ) and oral sprays over the years but nothing has helped. Think I may have heard

ACTH Stim test after stopping abiraterone & prednisone
Has anyone had an ACTH Stimulation test after stopping abiraterone and Prednisone to test for adrenal insufficiency? I ended 24 months of eligard, abiraterone, and Prednisone on June 4. My endocrinologist (who I had prior to prostate cancer) pushed me to have a cortisol test on June 6 even though I

Serum parathyroid hormone
Finally, after a year of the labs refusing to test Vit D, I finally had it tested, and as suspected, it was below the bottom of the scale - 23. So back on tablets and spray, and hopefully my leg muscles will start working again... The lab refusing to test has made me ill...grumble, grumble. Anyway

Mood swings & burst of anger
This has happened a few times over the years, that I've been drinking nothing ott but 3-4 glasses of wine & suddenly out of nowhere I'm upset shouting at hubby for no apparent reason🤦 I've been very good of late not to drank too much. (Just recently back on 125mcg daily instead of eod as my moods were

"Real Thyroid"
Regard all. I've been treating hypothyroid for many years with Thyroid S (Thailand). I am seeing a new NDT called "Real Thyroid" from Vietnam. I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with this. I'm not finding any reviews when I search for them. Love to hear from anyone who uses this or has

Hyperparathyroidism and Bones
I had primary hyperthyroidism in 2014 with two adenomas removed. It's been a long time since I've had my PTH level checked. I was reading that you should have ongoing annual check-ups of calcium and PTH levels to detect any long-term changes or recurrence of hyperparathyroidism. I feel fine and don't

helvella - The End of Thyroid BP
Several times I have posted about how
Thyroid, BP
eventually disappeared (from the 1980 British Pharmacopoeia). However, I have now added several additional letters in a thread over a few issues of the British Medical Journal. They add some depth to the story. Have a look even if you have previously

Could MCAS a possibility?
Hello everyone, I have been wondering for a while if I could have MACS. Last year I was diagnosed with a Raw Pecan allergy, borderline brazil and salami allergy through raw food skin to skin prick testing and given epi pens. My immunologist at the time did not want to risk it as I have asthma and

Hi, I’m new to this site and wondered if anyone could help me? In 2019 I had a lymph node in my neck that was raised I had a scan done and it was harmless but a “slightly enlarged lymph node” but they stated “that there was some nodular changes in my thyroid but again within the limits” so since then

are CTx numbers supposed to be extremely under range while on prolia?
is that the point of anti resorptive? is P1NP supposed to be upper range on prolia, or lower range on prolia? my Mum's numbers are low. but the tests haven't been done for years, i don't think, and they were run within 3 months of prolia doses, so the ctx would be expected to be low? and Mum's

Who is confused? My surgery or me?
I was asked by the GP to remind him, when I reached 3mg in my tapering, that I should have a synacthen test. I have now done so. However, I am being sent for an ACTH blood test Is this the same thing (I don't think so as I have not been asked to miss the steroid dose and there is no indication that

Atrophied Thyroid Gland (1 side only) & Vascular abnormalities showing in ultrasound…
Hi, I have only one side thyroid gland (believed to be by birth, though I am not convinced). A recent thyroid ultrasound report stated vascular abnormalities, not expanded on. Having read up a little often a lot of literature online says frequently relates hyperthyroid. A study revealed that often

Stopped taking NDT thyroid
Hello, could you share your experiences if you tried stopping thyroid hormone replacement? I was on NDT for years, developed hyperthyroid symptoms +very low TSH (normal ft3 and ft4), had heart arrythmia and high blood pressure, lost a lot of hair. Taking NDT didn't help with my weight problems or other
