Puzzled - stepping up preventer medicine when symptoms come on so quickly
Back to see another GP today who has changed preventer to
Seretide
. She said it can take up to 6 weeks for increased doses of preventer medicines to have effect - so how do you know when to step up, when symptoms come on so quickly?

Medical trial?
I feel my intake of
Seretide
has had side effects which I would rather not have, so any way of reducing it for me will be good. Anyone else doing this trial, it is being funded by the NHS?

Sore throat/headache/eye pain
I moved from
Seretide
to a Relvar Ellipta and Incruse several months ago. I keep getting headaches, sore throat and eye pain. I’m not sure whether it’s the Incruse or the Relvar causing the problems. Does anyone have any experience of these symptoms whilst on Relvar or Incruse?

TRIMBOW
Been asthmatic since childhood (now in my 60s) have been on
Seretide
125 for years but suddenly been changed to Trimbow, after bad summer due to hayfever resulting in bad spirometer reading. Not sure I like Trimbow (I don't feel as secure..) but it seems to be new and no one I know is on it.

Alternatives to fostair?
I had
seretide
before but changed to fostair as it gave me a bad hand tremor. What alternatives are there? My asthma is well controlled with this dose. I have an appointment with my GP in ten days time. Any information or other people's experiences or suggestions most welcome. Many thanks.

No breathlessness but diagnosed as copd.
Has been on various inhalers,
Seretide
, incruse etc. PFTs test Mar this year...FEV1 88%, FVC89%. SPO2 - 98/99. CT scan, X-Ray also normal six months ago. I believe my lungs are normal. Even did a 6 min walk/jog test last week...could covered 680m. But main problem is coughing mucus daily.

What to do?
I’m tempted to go up to my pharmacy or call AUK and see if I can temporarily up the
Seretide
to see if it helps. Any help would be gratefully appreciated x

I’m Back
She has dropped my
Seretide
125 down to one puff, twice a day and I find I don’t have to use my Salamol at all.

1 step forward 2 steps back
Having been changed from Spiriva and
Seretide
to Spiolto and Clenil just over 2 weeks ago I had slightly improved after 8/10 days. Able to do a little bit more and recover quicker. Great thinks I, but be careful, don't push your luck. (you know what happens if you do).

Seretide/Fostair
When I was first ill the asthma nurse changed me from
seretide
250 to fostair 106 and the consultant upped it to 206. I was wondering if maybe the fostair is not working for me? Have many people found that they were better on
seretide
?

Inhaled steroids update
A few days ago I posted about how first
Seretide
and then Pulmicort both made me lose my voice and gave me a swollen throat. My doc took me off
Seretide
and I was now expecting Pulmicort to suffer the same fate.

Relvar ellipta and Beclospin
Hi, I finally managed to contact my specialist and I asked him if I could change my meds since they're not working (
seretide
). He decided to give me instead Relvar ellipta and Beclospin. I don't know anything about these drugs however. How is relvar ellipta different from
seretide
?

Is Fostair causing extreme fatigue and aching all over my body.
My asthma nurse decided to change me to Fostair from
seretide
about 2 months ago following three really bad chest infections.

Pulmicort vs Symbicort
I’m wondering under what scenarios a doctor might prescribe Pulmicort, instead of Symbicort or
Seretide
, as a preventer medicine. - thanks.

Is my Peak flow high enough?
I do still have night symptoms and feeling mucusy at times but I’m feeling a lot better than I was 2 months ago ( productive cough gone, attacks stopped) after 11 weeks of
Seretide
500 and everyday I feel a little less wheezy. Any advice will be gratefully received. 😊 Thank You

Can’t shake off tight chest feeling despite good peak flow / inhaler use
I now look after myself - exercise where possible, use
seretide
inhaler 4 x day and salbutamol as required. My issue is this: I have an incredibly tight chest all the time. Inhalers don’t seem to make a difference.

Increasing seretide
I know that you can use Fostair as a reliever but I'm not sure about
seretide
. I tried asking my doctor for a seperate steroid inhaler but he refused and said that
seretide
was stronger and better for my case!

Alternative for inhaled steroids
Hey, I recently stopped
Seretide
500 (x2 daily) because it caused my throat to swell and my voice to disappear almost completely. My doctor started me on Pulmicort 200 (x4 daily) and to my disappointment, it seems to be going the same way.
