How do you know if you have grown out of Asthma?
I know it sounds like a strange question but it has me wondering. I am 37 years old male who has had Asthma since i was very young, approx 2 years old. I have always been fairly fit and healthy despite this and it has not hindered me to much in my life thankfully. I have only had probably about 3 or

Rhumab
Hi! Has anyone taken part in the trials of Rhumab? I did, for three years. What a difference! Now we're waiting for NICE to approve it but that seems to be a major hurdle. Since I finished the injections, 18 months ago, I've managed with Seretide 2x2, Ventolin 2x2 and the occasional pred course. While

Open Water Swimming
Hi All, My triathlon training requires me to practice and train in open water which is usually a dock, lake or reservoir. I wear a wetsuit (which is the correct fit) but despite increasing my Seretide 125 to 2 puffs the night before and on the morning and then also taking my Ventolin before any training

Are Air Conditioners bad for Asthma?
Writing on behalf of my mum whose 75yrs. She was diagnosed with Asthma about a year ago following pnenumonia but hasn't since had any problems with it although sometimes paint and chemical smells can trigger a cough. It's very well controlled at present, takes Seretide twice a day which seems to be

chronic fatigue moderate lung disease asthma
Hi I have been on here a few times and have found other experiences very helpful. I don't really know what I am asking today. I had pneumonia 3 years ago and since haven't been right. My asthma has become volatile, i constantly have chest infections from colds and can't seem to get my life on track

Hot & bothered

All this After having a couple of days without using ventolin, to good to last. New tablets seem to be helping as I have cut down on

Just thought i'd pop a message and say hi. I'm 32 and have been asthmatic since i was about 3, as a child i was always in and out of that place they call hospital. We moved up north and my asthma seemed to improve and i managed to get some control with only 1 or 2 flare ups a year requiring antibiotics

Being around smokers
Hi - have recently been semi-diagnosed as ""probable late-onset asthma"". Am currently on my third course of pred in the last couple of months, following a bad weekend where my peak flow was down to 270. Peak flow is now back up to 600, so seems to be doing the trick (it should be 645-ish; am 37 and

Epipens and Asthma
Dear All I would like to see if anybody has been having similar difficulties to mine with asthma and if so have they been issued with a epipen and what effect this is having. Since the beginning of the pollen season I have been having difficulties with my asthma and have been prescribed Seretide 250

Seretide
Hi I'm new on here. Had asthma throughout my childhood and grew up on amoxicillin. Thought I'd grown out of it as I was asthma free in my 20's but it came back with a vengence in my 30's. I've been hospitalised in the past and end up in a&e at least once or twice a year needing a nebuliser. Up until

What's the best way to keep an Aerochamber Plus free of inhaler dust? Salbutamol is bad enough to wash out but this seretide 250 seems not to reach me, no matter how I puff it in. I've taken without spacer several times, to get the correct dose. GM

Getting me down a little
Ok, so I know I was only diagnosed a few weeks ago. And I know I don't have it bad. But I'm feeling pretty down and p**sed off and I guess sorry for myself. The self pitying part of me thinks I already have one chronic condition, why do I have to get another? And the other part of me tells me to

Foradil?
Just been put on Foradil, and Qvar, anyone else on this combi,i also have xyzal and singulair. Was on Seretide but am seeing no improvement, plus had been on seretide before and symptoms seemed to get worse, so is this why i,m probably been changed over to these other meds?

Advice needed please
Hello, After many years of having a couple of Ventolin inhalers hanging around ""just in case"", I unfortunately joined the ranks of fully signed up asthmatic this May. I had a big attack out of the blue and ended up spending a week in costa (think thats what you call it on this site!). Since then

Embarrassing problem!!
I have had it pointed out to me that I have really bad breath at the moment which is so embarassing, I just wondered if it could be a side effect of using Seretide? I use a spacer and wash my mouth afterwards. Can't think of anything else that would have caused it. I asked the pharmacist but he didn't

Super PF
I don't understand how at age nearly 75 I can have Peak Flows between 500 & 620 (620 tonight) before taking my Seretide. If I blew a 400 ish I would have thought that was reasonable. It makes me wonder how can I be asthmatic, yet I am !
