Why do asthma nurses presume you know everything without being told?
My asthma seems to be on a downward spiral at the moment. Coughing my head off at a moments notice. Hubby works from home and phones go constantly. Most days, have to hurriedly rush through to another room as my cough strikes mid call. When the inhalers were at their best, quite used to going out with

Loss of Voice when trying to Train!!!!!
Hi all, I'm sure Im not the only one who has this problem - don't suppose that i'll be the last either!!! I've been having to take my ventolin rather alot recently mainly due to hayfever and the fact that I seem to have become extremely sensitive to irritants. I also have to take Seretide twice a day

Seretide to Fostair - Any advice?
Been moved from Seretide to Fostair since having trouble with leg cramps/muscle aches related to Seretide doseage. Does anyone have any first hand experience of Fostair? The info leaflet looks a little scary and has worried me!!

I'm back to where I started. I'd been doing so well on the inhalers and looked forward to night out as I'd reached the point where I could carry on a conversation with no interruption and eat a meal in company without feeling embarassed. Life was sonderful. To go out with friends, a joy. Now, all

ventolin inhaler
Sorry but this maybe a stupid question and may be in the wrong area of the forum. We have 3 asthmatic children, 1 severe (who is really stressing us at the moment but that's another story) and obviously have a ventolin inhaler for each one. My question is, how do I know when they are empty and need

Flixotide & Oxis
3 months ago I had to stop Seretide, it was working brilliantly but I got awful leg cramps. Was put on Symbicort but I didn't get the control so I visited asthma nurse today and we've agreed to use the steroid from seretide (Flixotide) and the LABA from symbicort (Oxis) to see how I get on, hopefully

Seretide, a scan and some symptoms
Hi I’m really glad to have found AUK, and this board, as not knowing anyone else with breathing troubles can be quite isolating and confusing at times. I was diagnosed with asthma as a baby, took all the usual medicines until late childhood when it seemed to get bored and go away for a bit, and am

Asthma Drugs ?
Hi My attacks are becoming more frequent and am having to use prednisolone more often. I have had spirometry tests which were not too bad considering I have been asthmatic for all my life and a heart scan which was fine.I have had some great help from members regarding my absences from work and pressure

Can't get rid of this breathlessness - please help
I have been ill for 4 weeks with breathlessness (hardly any wheezing) and was in hospital for 5 days my peak flow has improved from the 200 but despite having taken pred, slophyllin and seretide I am still breathless. Said it could be a virus. My GP added Singulair but I have seen no improvement. I am

aches and pains - can allergy cause them?
Hi everyone, I have home nebs, seretide etc, and am allergic to dust mites and tree pollens. Every so often I get these ""attacks"" of bad pain all over, muscles and joints, like flu, and feel really disabled, hobbling round like an old lady. This last month I've had it for several odd days and the

How long until I notice something?
hi, I may have asked this sort of thing before, sorry if I am repeating myself (I have an awful memory!) My dr has just taken me off seretide 125mcg and put me on to beclometason 100 (4 puffs twice a day) with serevent 50 (1 puff twice a day) in a attempt to settle breathing down. I've been using these

Definitions of wheezing, rattling and general chest noises.
Further to a previous thread I promised to come back after asking the GP what the difference was between all the different terms used for noisy chests. He was a bit vague but said that wheezing, rattling, crackling etc were all interchangeable terms and I got the impression that the doctors just use

seretide alternatives???
Hi, I wondered if anyone could help. I'm currently on seretide 125 and have been for 6 months and although it is just about doing its job Its giving me a real husky voice which is really frustrating coz I do lots of shouting at work and need a strong voice. I know that might sound daft but I wondered

What next?
Just finished my second course of steroids in a month and still on Seretide 500 twice a day. Symptoms improved dramatically during this course of preds, my pf increased to 430, the best for months. Now that they are finished it has dropped back to 280 - 300. My GP said I was not reacting normally
