Pneumonia Life expectancy
My mum has terminal pneumonia with sepsis that has not responded to antibiotics. She is on syringe driver morphine, hyoscine for the secretions and midazolam sometimes to rest. Daily her chest crackles/bubbles are worsening (in both lungs) but she continues to hang in and has pretty much full awareness

PROSTATE CANCER AND PANCREATIC ATROPHY?
I have had nausea with every meal, and sometimes frequently even inbetween, although I have several anti-nausea drugs; Ondansetron and
Scopolamine
patches. Has anyone else had pancreatic issues?

Hyoscine
Just a quick question is it best to have the patches or the tablets I have read the side affects of both and I'm worried that I will be doing Brian more harm then good with the patches. I did get him some tablets but they seem to make him sleepy and vague and I think he is coughing more with lack of

Change of medication.
I mentioned sometime ago I would let you all know after my husband was tried on Sinemet. Well it made no difference to his symptoms and hence it has now been discontinued. However, the next medication trial, was for him to have hyoscine patches to reduce his drooling. He has had the patches now for two

Can anyone give any advice regarding excessive saliva, we are not able to use hyoscine patches as my husband also has glaucoma.
Most days he is constantly drooling and it is also causing problems pooling in his throat causing him to choke, he has nearly lost his cough function so has great difficulty clearing his throat. Regards Lynda Powell

Has anyone tried trihexyphenidyl, procyclidine or orphenadrine ? If so any help?
Dad has had some benefit from the hyoscine patches in terms of improving movement and speech at first, but now they just help with swallow mainly. The patch gives too much of a rash so we may give one of these a try, just thought I'd see if anyone else had tried? It is for Parkinson's really.

IBSEN
I'm having an episode of IBS this weekend, so I'm not happy! It started about 20 years ago but I have long spells with no symptoms (which makes me think it's a fabricated illness -until the next episode!) I have diahorrea-dominant IBS and have experienced faecal incontinence which is extremely embarrassing

My Mum 70 has had 1 round of Carboplatin, all went well. She has however had severe pain when eating, she advise her oncologist of this and was given Morphine medicine. This has not helped at all and out of deperation she went back to her GP yesterday. Her GP asked if she was aware of what she had
